Both have almost the same spec. Personal preference smile.gif

For me, the Inspiron series are abit less sturdy sweat.gif

1. Preferred Brand : Vaio, Dell, Hp (anything with good warranty)
2. Budget: Below 3k
3. Usage: School work, games like the sims 3 (with good graphics), watching movies.
4. Preferred laptop/screen size : 14" or 13" (is 15" ok for portability?

Thank you!

Sims 3 is not exactly very graphic demanding sweat.gif
Bigger screen will have heavier weight.

Can try these:

Dell
Inspiron 14R (Special Edition), i5-3210M + Nvidia GT640M(28nm Kepler)@RM2199[2.38kg], 4GB, 500GB(7200rpm); backlit keyboard optional

HP
[Ultrabook] Envy4-1043TX/1053TX, i5-3317U + AMD HD7670M + [32GB mSATA + 500GB(5400rpm)]@RM2599[Beats][1.75kg], 4GB, W7HP
Pavilion G4-2006/2007/2008TX, i5-3210M + AMD HD7670M@RM2199[2.19kg], 4GB, 750GB(5400rpm), W7HP

These are 14" laptops. For 13", it is more expensive and not suitable for gaming. Same goes with Sony Vaio series sweat.gif

Depend on ur preferences also for this 2 model. Both spec wise, more or less same.. GPU also not different much. same level. hmm.gif

What you really need to do now, go to shop give a hand-on on both model. nod.gif

Hi guys currently using Compaq CQ40-126AU.

Brand: Any

Specs: Able to play dota1/2 highest settings. Going to be heavily editing photos (in the future) . All in the lines of editting. Normal usage.

Budget: Best price for value. Below 3k ? But can tolerate more. Looking for something future-proofing. Like my current lappie lasted me for 3 years 8 months already. Feel like time to change.

Looking for something with good durability too. Prefer to have things like warranty 5 years etc so i can always have a new one if something faulty happened to it.

Edit: I don't mind the weight. But of course, the lighter the better. Preferably having a bigger screen too. Maybe 15.6 inch minimum ?

i3 i dont think enough power for the games u play, if can try to top-up a little bit more to get i5. From what i know is, ATi is better for graphic design and Nvidia is good for gaming. Correct me if im wrong, else need real expert to answer ur question... biggrin.gif
