Hi everyone, was planning to get a new laptop.. which laptop should i go for if im a user who..

-listens to music very very often, browse music videos, youtube mostof the time. (my old laptop crashed coz i opened too many videos)
-seldom play games. im nt a gamer.
-browse the net very very often
-functions > designs.
-prefers it to be portable and not too big, as im still a student and will be carrying it around college

as you can see, i would like the audio and graphics be in good quality. BTW i want a laptop with a good fan too. my old laptop always get overheated!

I've heard that Asus currently in high demand. should i buy that as well?

*budget max rm3-4k
your help is very much appreciated~~~ cheers!! rclxm9.gif  rclxm9.gif

Can try these:

14"
Dell Inspiron 14R (Special Edition), i5-3210M + Nvidia GT640M(28nm Kepler)@RM2199[2.38kg], 4GB, 500GB(7200rpm); backlit keyboard optional
HP [Ultrabook] Envy4-1043TX/1053TX, i5-3317U + AMD HD7670M + [32GB mSATA + 500GB(5400rpm)]@RM2599[Beats][1.75kg], 4GB, W7HP
Lenovo Y480(5934-1372), i7-3610QM + Nvidia GT650(GDDR5)@RM2699[JBL], 4GB(1600mhz), 500GB(5400rpm), backlit keyboard, W7HB, 2 years international warranty

15"
Asus N56Vz-S3088V, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT650M@RM2699[Bang&Olufsen], 4GB, 750GB, W7HP, subwoofer and backpack

These have pretty good sound system. Some even have great GPU that comes along as well as an added advantage.
I would suggest 14", more lighter and portable.

Hey guys...
I'm looking for a laptop that I'm going to use for

-with the budget of RM3000-3500.. maximum i could go for is around 3800 or so..
-some gaming-e.g guild wars 2, battlefield 3 and etc
-listening to music..
-courseworks.
-14/15" FHD if possible
-with windows7

I'm eyeing the Lenovo Y580, but can I probably change the HDD to the HDD SSD hybrid? Like the 1TB hdd and 32GB ssd?
Sager NP6165 also looks like a good choice, but the GPU is not as good as the lenovo's
ASUS also looks like a good choice..but somewhere in Lowyat forum, there's a thread that bashes the ASUS warranty/customer service?

instead on getting 32gb minissd... why don't change the hdd to ssd which much more cheaper... move the hdd to optical drive slot... and optical as external...

If you don't mind having a normal processor, then this one:
14"
Sony Vaio SVE14A15FGB, i5-2450M + AMD HD7670M + (1600x900)@RM3099[2.3kg], 4GB, 640GB(5400rpm), W7HP

Otherwise this (ultrabook):
Hp Envy [Ultrabook] (Spectre) 14-3111TU, i5-3317U + Intel HD4000 + (1600x900 Radiance) + 128GB SSD@RM3999[1.8kg], 4GB

Can consider this one:
14"
Asus A43TK-VX024 , AMD A6-3420M + AMD HD7670M@RM1399, 2GB, 500GB(5400rpm), FreeDOS

Dell Inspiron 14, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT620M@RM1699[2.1kg], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), Ubuntu Linux 11.10

Do take note that the ones above doesn't come with Windows nod.gif

If you can fork out a little bit more, this one is definitely overally better:
14"
Lenovo G480, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT630M@RM1799, 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), FreeDOS, *no USB3.0

HD+ is not a must, and I kinda dislike Vaio =\

If the Dell 14 is a greater choice with a slightly higher price, then I might just go for that one.

I mean if this spec and the price :

Dell
[Ultrabook]XPS 14, i5-3317U + Nvidia GT630M + 32GB SSD + 500GB(5400rpm) HDD + (1600x900)@RM3799[2.1kg], 4GB, 8-cell, backlit, spill resistant keyboard

Is more advisable to get rather than others, I might just push my budget for this one.

Well, it depends on what you're using the ultrabook for, the XPS14 is rather powerful in the GPU compartment brows.gif
If you're into gaming, then its either the XPS14, the Envy 4, or the Acer M5:

14"
Acer [Ultrabook] M5-481TG-53316G12, i5-3317U + Nvidia GT640M LE (28nm Kepler) + 128GB SSD@RM2899[1.85kg], 6GB, W7HP

HP [Ultrabook] Envy4-1043TX/1053TX, i5-3317U + AMD HD7670M + [32GB mSATA + 500GB(5400rpm)]@RM2599[Beats][1.75kg], 4GB, W7HP
