For normal usage, I think HD3000 would be enough. Why would you need HD4000?  hmm.gif

Can try these:

Acer V5-431-987B2G50s/b/u, B987 + Intel HD4000@RM1499[2.1kg], 2GB, 500GB, W7HP; colors: silver/blue/pink
HP Pavilion G4-2110TU, i3-3110M + Intel HD4000@RM1799, 2GB, 500GB(5400rpm), W7HP
Toshiba Satellite L840-1024X, i3-2370M + AMD HD7670M@RM1899[2.12kg], 2GB, 640GB, W7HP
Dell Inspiron 14R, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT630M@RM1999[2.38kg], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm)

Hi, thanks for the help!

Reason being that her brother are casual gamer that plays a game or two.
I'm using a laptop with ancient 9600M GT and the HD4000 is roughly at the same level as it so I use it as the gauge. nod.gif

Hi sifus,
I have doubt over 2 of Dell's models:
1. Dell Vostro 2420, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT620M@RM1999[2.38kg], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm)
2. Dell Inspiron 14R, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT630M@RM1999[2.38kg], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm)
Both are having more or less the same spec and at the same price. So, which one would be a better buy (comparing on hardware, durability, build, screen quality, heat...)? Mostly for play multimedia, surfing, light games...

TIA.

well, i suppose a quick Google search will say Apple, but personally i would say Lenovo ThinkPad or Dell Latitude...

at the end of the day, it's still largely dependent on the user...

Hi sifus,
I have doubt over 2 of Dell's models:
1. Vostro 2420 (v520744MY) i5 at RM 1999 against
2. Inspiron 14R (v510501MY) i5 also at RM1999.
Both are having more or less the same spec and at the same price. So, which one will have the advantages against the other model (in terms of durability, multimedia...)?

TIA.

Vostro is a business grade laptop, so it should have slightly better build material (i said slightly since Vostro is only a budget line of Dell business laptops... there's Latitude family on top of it)... and u get business grade warranty service as well...

So these are the laptops that are recomended to me with a budget of 4-5k

14" Dell Alienware M14x R2, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT650M (1GB) + (1600x900)@RM4499[Klipsch], 8GB, 1TB(5400rpm); [CPU Options: i7-3610QM -i7-3820QM]

Lenovo Y480 (5934-1161), i7-3610QM + Nvidia GT650(GDDR5)@RM2499[JBL], 4GB(1600mhz), 500GB(5400rpm), backlit keyboard, FreeDOS, 2 years international warranty Y480(5934-1372), i7-3610QM + Nvidia GT650(GDDR5)@RM2699[JBL], 4GB(1600mhz), 500GB(5400rpm), backlit keyboard, W7HB, 2 years international warranty

15.6" Asus G55VW-S1095V, i7-3610QM + Nvidia GTX660M (2GB) + (1920x1080)@3999, 4GB, 1TB(5400rpm), W7HP Lenovo Ideapad Y580, i7-3610QM + Nvidia GTX660M (2GB) + (1920x1080) + Bluray@RM3599[JBL], 8GB, 1TB HDD(5400rpm), W7HP, backlit keyboard, 2 years international warranty MSI GE60, i7-3610QM + Nvidia GTX660M + (1920x1080; anti-glare) + Bluray@RM4199, 8GB, 1TB(7200rpm), W7HP, 2 years warranty, gaming mouse & backpack, Free SteelSeries QCK Mass mousepad

So i was wondering, for gaming, i know that i would need a pretty high end lappy to run those games; how much at least for a laptop that can do that and that doesnt lagg, because I for one, hate those internal laggs you get, especially when im doing my assignments. Are these laptops suffiecent enough to do all those?

Thanks in advance thumbup.gif

Get the Asus, Lenovo or MSI nod.gif Then upgrade the HDD to SSD nod.gif
If you prefer stock laptpos, then the MSI would be better because of the faster HDD rotation speed which will give you an overall faster experience (shorter program load times). But of course the best is to have a SSD.
The M14x is no match for this monsters brows.gif
