NO, i meant its has a 540p+540p NATIVE 3D dislplay. It displays 2 frames (L+R)  one shot, whereas active uses alternating frames to display 2 frames (L+R).

YES, even the Blu-ray 3D 1.4a HDMI frame-packing format is displayed in 540p+540p.

The sad thing is details been cut in half using low pass filter.

For a full HD 1080p utilizing row-interleave polarized 3D they'll need the 2160p display (projector resolution).

Obviously PASSIVE wins over ACTIVE 3D !

During my survey, I've compated SHARP and LG.... lastly, i go for LG, coz' the give 8 glasses, and it runs without battery..... SHARP 3D Glasses is heavy, difficult to fits to my glass.....

Enjoy !

This one, I am not sure but I can advice you to make a trip to Desa Home. It will be worth it. I've been researching on this LG 55" for a while now and I can say that they offer the best prices.

You got me wrong, Im not saying passive wasn't good. I owned an LW5700.

But my stand is its still a 540p+540p, technically its not a true 1080p.

Its only "1080p" if you see with BOTH EYES, the 1080p is a brain interpolated stereo re-construct. Your brain combines the left and right image into one

Try read the small text (6-10 pixels) with only 1 eye.

Added on December 21, 2012, 6:22 pmAnother thing to consider before getting a passive is the viewing distance, you need to be at least 5 feet or more, anything less the 3D breaks. In active 3D you can even watch at 1.5 feet from the screen.

Other than that passive 3d is great, been using my LG 90% for 3D,

However sometimes I'll rewatch using my panasonic plasma active 3d 1080p in case i missed some details in the background, and sit closer like 2 feet from the screen.

I guess these are the little things that you have to cope up with. For me, unless they make active glasses cheaper and comfortable, I'll happily stick with passive. All I know is that I'll be watching my LM with 2 eyes open and sitting 6 feet away. smile.gif Happy to be discussing with you Mea Culpa.

For me buying 5 or more active glasess doesnt make sense, it cost too much. They are a lot heavier, and bad for ppl who wear glasses.

Active 3d is more like a "lone ranger" type like a PC monitor, more suitable for small room.

For family use and big crowd nothing beats passive 3d.

Actually before I bought the LM7600, I was sure I was going to buy panny 50st50k and was ready to buy 6 active glasses! Luckily I happen to come across this site and did some research. Also, the people on this site gave good advice on the price, instead of me looking solely on advertised prices. Thank you all.

I thought the LM6700 is 120Hz but hdguru website said that it's not and that LG's claim that LM6700 is TruMotion 120Mhz is untrue?

Hi, which model of the LM7600 did you get? I am planning to get one next week to enjoy 3D movie at home during my year end break.

My LM7600 is the 55" version. For 2D and 3D, I turned off Trumotion as I don't like its look. Not natural. I'm sure if you read this forum and outside, most will have this feature turned off. I brought my own movie samples to the shop to try the model out. I suggest if you are able - do this. All of these terms like trumotion, mci, 120/240 Hz etc are just technical terms (at least to me). Your eyes will eventually have to tell whether you are happy with what you're seeing or not. Good luck.

Yeah I find Desa Home offer best price. I called them yesterday and asked about delivery to Seremban. Delivery + installation charge $200/-. It still cheaper than any other shop. I am definitely taking a drive to Desa Homes very soon.

LG service center will be the place. If you send to shop bought, they will also send to service center.
