I straight just go for the best 1. Save me cost and time. If the player not up to my expecting. (Have to sell it off later and lost some cost)

I have a 5yrs old TVIX media player which cost RM1.5k. But as usual time pass, it getting old and cannot keep up to the time.  sad.gif  When 3d and new format coming, this player have to retire.  cry.gif

to me so long as PQ is the same (i presume PQ is same since all is using same chipset) + comes with constant & reliable firmware update , i would opt for cheaper one as the gadget evolve too fast and become obsolete

Media player is not just the PQ. The most fustrated is it cannot play some high quality file and format. Than got to settle for the lower quality format. So I pay slighty expensive to get a better player that last longer.

Same chipset, but PQ do have different. Specially audio side. That is make the price different.

Have read some forum about this HiMedia player. Still ok for normal using. Have some issue here and there.

Seems like so far the med1000x3d is the best in the market now.

Congrats merchant9. For playing movies, I rely on media player rather than the tv usb player but it's your choice. I know a mr X will suggest using a bluray player biggrin.gif

Thanks! The TV is great and we both love it but drawback is our baby is sleeping in the room and we cannot turn on the volume at night. Sometimes have to watch the TV with very low volume. I am thinking of a media player too. Desa Home recommended me one with the latest Realtek technology for RM480 but I held back, didnt buy yet. Still surveying. What you using?

I was also told that HDMI cable v1.4 only support 3D and anything before that does not. I read somewhere that HDMI is the same regardless expensive or cheap but not sure if that's true.

Currently, we are trying to furnish our room, finding a suitable wardrobe + tv cabinet but there's nothing that supports up to 55". Just got back from IKEA and max out is only 42".

You need a media player latest ver. that capable play 3d. But some 3D format still cannot playable. So you got to becarefull when buy a media player. Makesure it can paly all the format.

I try to play the 3D file from the ext HDD direct to my tv via USB. It can play the file. But audio format not support.

Yeah, I'm still looking for some, will get my brother (IT guy at home) to read some review. Any recommendations are welcomed. Thank you.

Since you mentioned IKEA. I just got this TV table and I use this for my 55LM7600. Got it at IKEA Bandar Utama (near IKANO)

http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products...5340/#/20105341

Even though its specification mentioned tv up to 50" , looks like it's strong enough. Maybe the tv is thin.
I would like to know the brand of the realtek player Desa Home recommended to you. Perhaps a name and phone number of the seller would be helpful. Thanks.

On the HDMI v1.4 issue, I believe that only v1.4 will send the proper 3d (frame-packed) signals to the tv and the tv will automatically change to 3d mode but if you still use the old v1.3, you will still be able to play 3d on the LM but you need to press the 3d button. To me, I don't mind. Anybody care to add or comment on this, as this is what I understand at the moment.

Hi I just bought my 55LM7600 from Desa Home yesterday. I got it for RM6300 with 3D camcorder and 12 passive 3D glasses. The box come with dual play glasses as well. This Christmas present made my hubby very happy. He's fixing up PS3 and HDD to the TV. We are still not very clear about downloaded 3D movie, something to do with file format so perhaps someone here can advice.

A 3D movie in a external HDD, mkv format. Connect via USB to the TV, can watch? It's USB, not HDMI. USB transfer audio and sound? I'm a bit lost here.
It's very cheap indeed, worth the price! smile.gif
Depends on where you buy from. Normally you take to the service center directly. However, I bought from Desa Home, LG 55LM7600, 2 years warranty. They said we can call them and they will follow up with LG for us for on-site repairs and such. It's not easy to transport a 55" so getting on-site support is better.
LG 55" LM7600 for RM6300 with 3D camcorder and 12 passive 3D glasses.
Hi chowkh,
The 55LM6700 is <RM5k. The 55LM7600 is 6.3k. The difference is the refresh rate. I think for LED there's only 2 types at 120 and 240. And according to HDGuru, the LM6700 is not true 6700. All this does not really bother me because I dont think our eyes can tell the difference but I simply chose the LM7600 because flatpanelshd.com reviewed it and said it's one of the better panels and best bang for buck if compared to LM8600 or LM9600 which we cannot afford anyway. You're spending in the range of 5k+/-, why save that bit of money and regret later? Just go for the best you can afford.

Hi Merchant9,
How much did they quote you for the 3 years extended warranty?

We have a unused table at home. It serve as our tv table now but we needed additional wardrobe so we thought of getting one with spaces within to fit in the new tv but was told that to fit the size, the wardrobe compartment need to be drill to the wall. Husband is against drilling. Worry we might switch places and make walls look ugly.

Without wardrobe to fit in some other stuff, cannot put his ps3 so he's frustrated and looking for furniture. So now furniture hunting.

Avf accentture a5 is the 3d media player brand and model.

Did consider HTPC fews yrs back. But scrap the plan. First, too costly. Setup a HTPC with raid can cost few thousand. 2nd, power consumption is high. If add in download 24hr, my bill is sweat.gif . 3rd, I need a player that is user friendly. I need to consider my wife do know how to operate. You know lady lah. Zero knowledege on A/V. rclxub.gif

My current setup is a NAS link to media player and LCD TV via router. Simple and easy operate. I manage the NAS file and download. The lady in the house just ON the TV and media player and play the video from the NAS. No need teach them the NAS section, as they will mess with your file. Worst, format the whole thing. sweat.gif

NAS running very low power consumption and run 24hr without any problem. If htpc, I got to stanby the powersupply part.

I no IT guys too. But you still need to know something about network and IP.

Get a NAS that everything already have. Synology and qnap is the good example NAS. 2nd, are you hardcore or normal guys for media. Hardcore, get a raid and plenty storage NAS. Normal, 1bay or 2bay is enough.

Than link it up to your router via ethernet. The TV and media player too to the router. You must get the A/V or high speed router. Not the G type. Setup the IP, DLNA, upnp, virtual server etc. You will be able browse the file from the NAS and play the file.

It look easy. But not that easy. Ha... tongue.gif

Thanks for quick advice.

I'm not a hardcore AC guy, just pick the normal will do....

How much budget will need to be allocated for all the gadgets ? For NAS (let say 2 bay) + A/V or high speed router ?

Mind to estimate the cost ? Thank you...

Hi all,

Need some advices from the expert here on LG47LM6700 TV.

1) I have Astro beyond encoder (but not subscribe to HD channel). Is it possible to connect my Astro beyond decoder to the TV thru HDMI cable? I try to connect but TV show no signal. Normal component cable has no problem.

2) I'm using full HD media player (AVF AH081). The player is connected to the TV thru HDMI cable. When I played downloaded movie file (be it 1080P or 720P), the TV monitor sometimes show blackout (less than 1 sec) intermittently thru out the whole movie. I replay to the scene but it's not happen at the same scene or time. This blackout problem did not happen when watching the Astro channel which is connected thru the normal cable (not HDMI). I tried to use the other HDMI port at TV and also I tried another HDMI cable but the problem is still persist. Any expert here can advice or experience this problem be it HDMI cable incompatibility issue or other issue? Fyi, this problem was not occur at my old Samsung LCD TV.

Thanks in advance.

1) HDMI port on the Byond decoder only enabled if you subscribe to HD.

2) It could be handshake issue between you media player and TV
