Hi. Let me try to answer ur questions (as per my knowledge) since I had the experience scouting for both models for quite some time. Both models offer similar tech level & electronics except for the bezel and wifi dongle for the lm6200. The lm6700 has a sleeker appearance and comes with a built-in wifi. If the wifi thingy and the looks don't offend u that much, save ur money elsewhere. As far as my knowledge is concern, both models do not differ in terms of hardware & software. The lm6200 does not come with the magic remote. I was quoted RM299 just for the magic thingy thus if u proceed with the purchase, consider that a bonus... Or maybe u can nego the price without the magic remote? Hope this helps.......

My ex-tv, so to speak, is a Toshiba 32" hd ready only. Comparing between the 2 through the naked untrained eyes, the Toshiba looks a tad better for normal broadcast (astro non-hd) but we have to bear in mind that for a 47 inchers, everything looks bigger thus the GIGO concept applies. Feed the LM6700 with a quality material, u got urself a very satisfying output (I haven't calibrated mine yet). Smaller screen tvs tend to 'conceal' garbage materials into beauty. That is why dvd centers almost always have their tvs as small as possible....

If u r looking for the best, the answer is always through the eyes of the beholder. Experience it since we have different perceptions and interpretations on subjective matters. I like what i see hence the purchase and I can't guarantee the same for u.

Did consider HTPC fews yrs back. But scrap the plan. First, too costly. Setup a HTPC with raid can cost few thousand. 2nd, power consumption is high. If add in download 24hr, my bill is  . 3rd, I need a player that is user friendly. I need to consider my wife do know how to operate. You know lady lah. Zero knowledege on A/V. 

My current setup is a NAS link to media player and LCD TV via router. Simple and easy operate. I manage the NAS file and download. The lady in the house just ON the TV and media player and play the video from the NAS. No need teach them the NAS section, as they will mess with your file. Worst, format the whole thing.  

NAS running very low power consumption and run 24hr without any problem. If htpc, I got to stanby the powersupply part.

I no IT guys too. But you still need to know something about network and IP.

Get a NAS that everything already have. Synology and qnap is the good example NAS. 2nd, are you hardcore or normal guys for media. Hardcore, get a raid and plenty storage NAS. Normal, 1bay or 2bay is enough.

Than link it up to your router via ethernet. The TV and media player too to the router. You must get the A/V or high speed router. Not the G type. Setup the IP, DLNA, upnp, virtual server etc. You will be able browse the file from the NAS and play the file.

It look easy. But not that easy. Ha... 

i use XBMC to setup media server on my apple TV...
it should do the job well for your mac/pc if you want to stream content to your LG tv

In my windows PC, I open up my Plex Media Manager by right clicking on the Plex system tray icon.  From the Media Manager (browser link), just click on Movies or TV shows, or Music... It will ask you to choose the directory where your respective media is.  Once you specified the directory, it will download all the relevant info and you will be able to see it from your TV.

Plex is really wonderful and beautiful, too bad LG decided to stop development for its LG TV client.

How is your mac and TV connected to your router?  If any of them are wireless, check out the signal strength.  Is it very far from the router?  I would suggest that at least one of them be connected with cable.
