how about Sony 46" HX750 vs LG 46" 6700??

Style & Design - LG wins, with ultraslim bezel.

3D performance - LG Wins ; brighter picture. More practical, cheap, light, simple passive 3D glasses (below 100 for 5 pieces).

Picture quality 3D - Active 3d 1080p Sony wins.

But Active 3D may cause eye straint and and possibly a migrane. In Active 3D when right eye seeing image left eye sees blank, this happens at 120hz rate, the brain reconstruct the image as 3D.

In Passive 3D both eyes seeing images simultanously so its ease for the eye and brain. Passive 3D is abit like 540p + 540p, a true full HD can only be archieved with dual polarised projector setup @ true cinema.

Picture quality 2D - No clear winner, but I prefer the Sony's. But the LG's has better brightness and black.

Buddy...the latest LM series 3D is 1080P + 1080P. So it's 3D is as good as Active now.

2D ...LG wins in colors and widest view angle than Sony. It's important as imagine a house watch by family more than 5. In Sony , those sat slight cinder will not enjoy its true glory.

If really 1080P then it's probably following Active 3D technique (Alternate L/R).

Hi Xstan and all,

I was the one Xstan was referring to with regards to the RM3350 for a 47LM6700. Well, sharing is really caring & Xstan is brilliant when it comes to sharing ( rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif ). He introduces me to his friend's dealer, a shop in Ipoh and all of a sudden my predicament was over in a snap! Originally I was quoted RM3500 for the model + a bluray player (couldn't remember the exact model) + 4 extra glasses but was quoted the best ever price of RM3350 without the player. The best unbelievable part is delivery to Segamat, Johor was free (via citylink). Package arrived safe and sound a day after payment was made via atm machine. Very reliable and trusted seller (thanks again to Xstan.... rclxm9.gif ).

Here in Segamat, I was quoted a ridiculously high price of rm4,400 from the only LG authorised dealer! What a bull..... mad.gif rclxub.gif

I personally feel for those who seek good prices to contact Xstan as he deserves the respect for sharing. The beauty of consumerism comes by the good deeds of sharing.

My ex-tv, so to speak, is a Toshiba 32" hd ready only. Comparing between the 2 through the naked untrained eyes, the Toshiba looks a tad better for normal broadcast (astro non-hd) but we have to bear in mind that for a 47 inchers, everything looks bigger thus the GIGO concept applies. Feed the LM6700 with a quality material, u got urself a very satisfying output (I haven't calibrated mine yet). Smaller screen tvs tend to 'conceal' garbage materials into beauty. That is why dvd centers almost always have their tvs as small as possible.... biggrin.gif

If u r looking for the best, the answer is always through the eyes of the beholder. Experience it since we have different perceptions and interpretations on subjective matters. I like what i see hence the purchase and I can't guarantee the same for u.

Added on December 17, 2012, 5:58 pmHi all. Anybody here can assist me in getting my hands wet with ori blurays (incl. 3d) at a reasonable price? Appreciate the help. Thanks.

Mine was also Toshiba HD-ready and its Astro SD channels have better PQ than my LM7600. But LG PQ for HD channels & HD movies are many times better.

I have no regrets on my LG

Hi guys...many of the Q are all answered in the past post. Do read them ...it's very very useful. Some tips of calibration, some link...some feedback.

I have to say many of the new owners just left the forum after owning them as I'm pretty sure they are real satisfied with their purchase or else they make hell lots f nasty complaints.

I have to agree to some that LG LM series for 3D and HD is top notch. Top in quality. But in normal SD TV , u have to calibrate this as watching hd and sd need different calibration set up. After subscribe Astro beyond, I hardly watch SD channels. I'm into HD channels only. This TV has a lot of goodies and features.
U want free demo 3D it's load with it...but I like best is its Kpop apps. 3D of Kpop is demo material...lots of pop up.

Actually quite number I refer got from the vendor and he did delivery too. It's matter only wether u trust this 2decades old family run shop or not. Remember..LG warranty, anything LG tech do house call.

Kipla ...u get get tips from me to order Ori bd from reliable site, Amazon. PM me if anyone need help. Remember, I'm no dealer or vendor, just simply luv to share. I don't ask any in return.

Finally saw hmwong got his new toy. Congrats.

Yup...to add, I agree with Kipla the bigger the tv the clearer the pixelation particularly obvious in SD, thus why u see better 32inch quality than 47 inch. It's true. Now everything is HD.
