That's exactly what it is doing. All apps has a timeout duration and retry time. So with your data line switched off, it is actually doing more checking that with the data line on as it will keep on retrying a few times. Imagine it doing this every hour, definitely your battery will run flat in no time.

I've taken every measure to tweak every single settings that can conserve battery, but this is the only one that i've overlooked doh.gif

hope it really solves the problem sweat.gif

thanks for the info anyway.  notworthy.gif
any weakness u seen in s3 so far?
*
If really want to point out the weakness, S3 is kind of fragile, not suitable if you are a kind of careless person.

And buy a housing (case) for protection. smile.gif

wow! really? in iphone, when u take the pic, look nice in the phone, when it transfer to the computer, worst quality ever!
do s3 had the same problem?
*
iPhone4S camera is damn solid! I not sure why you said bad. If iPhone4S camera also bad, then the only is buy Nokia 808 Pure View - that camera is crazy solid, on pair with some CSC, but crap OS - Belle and design and spec. Haha!

In-fact from some report, S III and iPhone4S seems use similar Sony sensor, and review out, both also with similar outstanding quality.

Check your Gmail, Sync and other settings like email, weather app etc. If you leave it to check every 1 hour or so then it sucks up battery like mad. For me, all mail sync are manual and I only allow Sync to sync my Google contacts list. As for Playstore, I set to sync on WiFi only. icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Very strange. After I turn off the Exchange Sync interval to manual, I am still getting emails pushed to my SIII. I wonder if the setting doesn't take effect immediately or it required a reboot of the phone to make it work. I'll monitor it again.

My S3 after pressed power button turn on go straight to home screen. No prompt for SIM Card PIN number, thus no service. I went into security to enter PIN number to enable the service (and disabled the SIM Card PIN), so that it can connect to network. However it is annoying now that pressing power button either turn screen dark or power off. No more further function. This is second time in a week. Last time was recovered by factory reset. Anyone has any idea what is wrong?
