I just held my friend's HTC One X earlier today, even though HTC One X's design is nicer and it feels more premium in the hand, the S3 is MUCH MUCH MORE NICER to hold.

It's like, I can't hold on to the HTC One X for more than a minute without changing my hand position, whereas on my S3 I feel that it's much more ergonomic and comfortable to the hand hmm.gif

all i have was this screenshot though.. normal operation with facebook, twitter , some browsing.. i don't play games too..
my battery life is exactly like yours.
During weekdays i don't play games, I don't use mobile data, 95% of the time i use it only for SMS-ing.
But yet my battery can't even last through a day (i have all unnecessary settings off) hmm.gif

Not really good. I think you have installed some apps which are sucking juice from your phone. Look at mine below.
I know it's an app that's sucking up all my battery because i left it on airplane mode one night, but yet i woke up after 8 hours with 8% battery gone hmm.gif

Check your Gmail, Sync and other settings like email, weather app etc. If you leave it to check every 1 hour or so then it sucks up battery like mad. For me, all mail sync are manual and I only allow Sync to sync my Google contacts list. As for Playstore, I set to sync on WiFi only. icon_rolleyes.gif

I don't have any mobile data so i off EVERYTHING that requires internet.
I'm very very sure that my settings are optimum for maximum battery life.
I hardly turn on my wifi, and i turn off wifi when i am not using it.

I suspect that the app that may be sucking up my battery = Beautiful Widgets.
I have the clock+weather widget set up on my homescreen.
I set the update interval to 1HOUR. I didn't think it was the cause since i dont have mobile data.

Now i have tweaked the update interval to manually, gonna try and see if it makes a difference.
Probably gonna have to wait till night time when i go to bed to try it.

Will report back with the results tomorrow smile.gif

I think it still checking for nothing even you not on the mobile data. (not sure on that).

I never put check every hour for weather, no point on that, that weather display is not that important, it just for fancy eye candy.

Just look out window, you can know current weather. smile.gif

I always put either every 3 - 6 hours, and I disable it if that weather widget I not in use.

that's what i was thinking too rclxub.gif

That's exactly what it is doing. All apps has a timeout duration and retry time. So with your data line switched off, it is actually doing more checking that with the data line on as it will keep on retrying a few times. Imagine it doing this every hour, definitely your battery will run flat in no time.

I've taken every measure to tweak every single settings that can conserve battery, but this is the only one that i've overlooked doh.gif

hope it really solves the problem sweat.gif

This is my battery usage. So check your apps n setting if u think your phone drain too fast. Me off wifi n data most of the time, only on when I need it. Power saving on n without any battery saving apps.

Usually at what level you guys start to charge the battery?

15% when low battery alert? Or 5/3% (cannot remember) when critical low battery alert?
*
Depending on whether i have an outlet nearby, sometimes when during night time before i go to sleep, i will charge the phone even if there's only 50% battery left.

Most of the time i charge it when it's left around 30%, rarely i charge it when it's below 8% smile.gif
(read from somewhere that it's not good to full-drain the battery)

Reporting back with my battery drain results.

user posted image

I had a battery drain problem that i thought i couldn't find a solution to the problem.

Found the solution after a fellow forumer mentioned about it.
Turns out, the battery sucker was Beautiful Widgets. I had a weather+clock widget open that had the update interval set to 1HOUR, i changed it to 16HOUR instead, and it really fixed the problem smile.gif

Usually when i idle my phone untouched for 12 hours (sleep + school), the battery will only have 85% remaining.
But after fixing the problem, the results are significantly improved biggrin.gif

This is a VERY HUGE improvement for me biggrin.gif

To be honest, I've never touched my brightness settings since i first got the phone. The new OTA update is cool, but it may not be very useful to me.

I just set it to AUTO brightness, and i find that its VERY VERY good at automatically tweaking the brightness biggrin.gif

Unlike iphone (or maybe other android phones), the auto brightness only hovers around the brightness level that was set, which obviously sucks since it's not really a true 'auto brightness' biggrin.gif

Just my opinion though tongue.gif

Spent RM75 on a SGP FlexHD. 1 week later, SGP releases a dry-application full-front coverage screen protector.

SGP really needs to get their crap together vmad.gif
