Found another problem with the Thomson router.
When only one wifi device connected to the router, no DC. However when more than one wifi devices connected to the router, internet connection keep DC repetitively.

add access point leceh ini. have more wiring and interconnect device with additional power point. if your AP taps on thompson. it depends on thompson too. if that thing f*ck up and down. your AP also affected.

better don't stack the modem-router
get laptop cooling pad as per suggest by other forummer if the problem persist
some say put it vertical for thompson.. hmm.gif
*
Yes, it is important not to stack them. Imagine both get hot and heat not able to dissipate.

It is also a good practice to put them vertical (e.g. standing) for greater ventilation.

Try check whether it is caused by some software. Last time my router always hang when I run MSN voice chat smile.gif

Maxis technician connected the voip line to your alarm system ? For my case, they couldn't be bothed, they just said "
Alarm ? saya tak tahu" when asked.

i complaint to Maxis CS on my alarm cannot call out. All my alarm setting has been perfectly done & able to call using TM. If Maxis cannot call out, Maxis need to improve. They promise 1 month to resolve this issue. Still waiting now....

I doubt home alarm is within Maxis's responsibility.
Other options i can think of are Either we keep the tm number or add a gsm modem to the home alarm system or change the alarm motherboard which support gsm sim card.
Of course it will be better if Maxis home VoIP line can be compatible with legacy home alarm system using analog pstn line.

speedtest results are good
but actual direct download is not very good
so far average speed is less than 100KB/s. even from apple is about 120KB/s.

any method how to increase it?

Try download Wins 8 ISO from Microsoft site or Symantec definition, see what is the speed, if still slow, disconnect and reconnect eInternet... Some IP give s***ty download speed, especiallly range below 100, don't know why...

Hi All,

Just want to share that I just got my maxis home fibre. Dunno why there is two router. One is TM, another one is Thompson. But when doing configuration will need t0 go 192.168.1.254 Thompson router.

I have question...
1. The installer kid (why say kid, because he is fresh graduated and ask him about technical thing, everything dunno, only know how to configure the broadband) said, I cannot change my wifi password first, because need to wait till stable. Probably 1 month. And because he said Maxis need to detect your router. Is this true?

2. Ask him about private IP and public IP that mention in previous post here by some sifu here, he dunno. So, I am going to install the CCTV first and get DDNS then see if it works or not? With this Thompson user interface, different with normal router/modem, dunno easy to configure the port forwarding or not.

If any Sifu here experience this before and know solution, please advice me...

THank you Thank you

No such thing. Change ur password right away or risk ur wifi being used by others as the default password of this thomson router is easy to crack.

If u want to install cctv, pls call/email Maxis to activate public ip as mentioned in previous post.
Port forwarding goto "Toolbox > Game & Application Sharing > New Game or Application" in router settings.

and after requesting public ip, need to change the login detail from @home to @public at the router,
mine they change to public ip first then i got dced, without informing me. I tried reconnecting but failed then change the @home to @public and it work. 3 days later, maxis called and wanting to instruct me to do the procedure, if I did not surt lowyat surely waiting for them to call will be painful.
