Can rooted N7 recieive OTA updades? I think OTA update will loose root. The app Voodoo Root Keeper can save root ?
*
Yes if you're on stock rom you'll still get OTA updates despite being rooted. You'll lose root though so make sure to backup root with Voodoo Root keeper and once OTA completes just restore root

I got to try the GNex 7 for a brief moment from someone who went to Google I/O (4.1.1), damn nice one... just wished it had VGA/HDMI support sad.gif Does anyone know of any such accessory(ies) that allow this?

isn't AOSP pure android from google?
stock nexus 7 rom is not AOSP? rclxub.gif
*
It is, I just put it there in case someone was running AOKP or something else and wanted to try this patch. The deodexed part is important too cause apparently it didnt work on my N7 which was running stock but not deodexed. smile.gif
Anyway, its working now that I switched to an AOSP rom and this is by far the best way to get the tablet UI IMO cause it doesn't edit the DPI but instead modifies the build.prop.

So limited function, and so expensive.
Not worth la.

Don't get what's the point of hooking a tablet to a TV.
Tablet meant for on the go. If hook to TV just for movies, might as well plug my laptop and play the movie. rclxub.gif

Oic, thanks for clearing my confusion.:-)

Right now my DPI is 175, with system font largest.
Chrome font increase to 150%, really comfortable for my eyes.
Not free now to try the deodex thing.
Maybe after my busy period.

May I ask what's the stock home screen grid size after using this patch?

yes it's my review on the Nexus 7, thanks man. There's no support for MHL but Nexus 7 does support uPNP/DLNA so if you have a uPNP/DLNA tv or device you can stream media from the Nexus 7 wirelessly. Not all media is supported yet though.

Right now the home screen is 6x7, app drawer is 4x7 evenly spaced. Fonts are of a nice size too. Not too big and not too small.

My home screen is 7x6,
App drawer is 7x5

Fonts are good after set to largest.

I'm very curious bout the patch. But I dare not try it.
I'm on stock odex ROM.
And I can't enter cwm recovery by the combo keys.

Worry I screw up. Not a risk worth taking right now.
Besides, gotten very accustom to current ui.

If U iOS user and now Android, most annoying thing is the keyboard layout.
I accidentally press enter key (Android) when I want to delete rclxub.gif
Anyone can suggest a android keyboard that had similar layout as iOS ?

Update:
I found this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?....aitype.android
Seem good. Will give it a try
