I see..so what I should do is get a 128GB mSATA SSD, then image the windows from the hard disk to the SSD right?
Are there any settings in the BIOS that I need to be aware of?
*
i sell the mSATA to many y580 users ady.
btw, if you using Windows 7 version, you just backup your windows 7 into 3 DVD via OKR and install into ur SSD then ok ayd

got my Y580 today!!! =) just realize the WEI in win8 have increased to 9.9 from win7's 7.9 ... when i run cpuz, why the graphic only show intel hd4000? is this the reason my score for graphic very low?

mine is i7-3630, 4gb 1600mhz ddr3, 500gb hdd, dvd drive, full hd, win8 RM2850, quite reasonable priced i think

Is it possible that asus n56vz i5 hdd upgraded to 750gb 7200rpm ssh (hybrid)? If possible, what is the cost?
I heard asus n56vz has free upgrade from 4gb ram to 8gbram. Is it true? :-)

I got my Y580 with only rm2599 at lowyat plaza (I think its the cheapest so far) but mine no FHD and 500GB 5400rpm version but still 8GB 1600mhz ram and same specs. Running AC3 quite ok on high settings and NFS Most Wanted (2012) quite well to (around 60-70FPS). Haven't test BF3 yet on this rig

Hi guys,

I wanna ask the following questions for Lenovo Y580:-

1) Anyone here has successfully upgraded to 16GB RAM?
2) Does our Y580 support 16GB RAM?
3) Any performance gained upon the upgrading to 16GB RAM for gaming and daily performance? I afraid there will be bottlenecks somewhere that even if I upgrade to 100GB RAM, it will still be the same.

Lenovo official local set all comewith 2 yrs warranty:
http://shopap.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/contr...EAN/MY/Products
Local set Y480 already phased out and replaced by Y400. Remaining Y480 stock in the market are US imported set, its best to avoid.

Ideapad Y580, i7-3630QM + Nvidia GTX660M + 1920x1080 @RM2999[JBL], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), W7HB/W8, backlit keyboard, 2 yrs warranty (Stock limited)
Ideapad Y580, i7-3610QM + Nvidia GTX660M (2GB) + (1920x1080) + Bluray@RM3499[JBL], 8GB, 1TB HDD(7200rpm), W7HP, backlit keyboard, 2 years international warranty
Ideapad Y580, i7-3630QM + Nvidia GTX660M (2GB) + (1920x1080) + Bluray@RM3899[JBL], 8GB, 32GB mSATA + 1TB HDD, W7HP, backlit keyboard, 2 years warranty

Watch out & don't get the cheaper grey imported set (AP set) come with 1 yr warranty. You might get a refurbished set or end up with major warranty claim issues.

HDD idle temp around 47C, it reached 63C during Furmark & Prime95 stress test. sweat.gif
Will it affect HDD lifespan as we may lost all the critical data?

Under full stress with Prime95, FurMark, AIDA64 to stress HDD
CPU & GPU at 91C, HDD at 63C
This is an unnatural level of stress that is almost never achieved under normal circumstances (including heavy gaming)

CPU & GPU at 91C, SSD at 47C and HDD temp down to 43C  thumbup.gif
