Question,how do i change from Intel HD4000 to my nvidia GT650M manually?

any idea how to use the webcam? i dl lenovo youcam driver but still cant use.
and does Y480 have ambient light sensor? how to setup?

OK found the problem.
Lenovo Y users kindly take note not to use nvidia 295.93 drivers on the lenovo CD. It disables graphics switching. Use the one on Lenovo website (295.5x)

enable switching graphics in BIOS
install nvidia drivers (but NOT 295.93 on the Lenovo CD)
GO to nvidia control settings and set global setting to run high performance nvidia
go to energy managment and set to max (the rocket)
NOTE: this will suck the battery.

Njoy! Really kick ass. Can run ultra settings in Battlefield 3 with no lag and no throttle.

I want to ask is if I buy Y480 with DOS, and if u added with SSD, how would u config with it?Is it just like what u do previous which is format desktop, the step is it the same???

OC to gtx 660 speed with MSI Afterburner. (Core 975. mem 1300) GPUz shows new speeds but on load, the max core clock speed is not responding to Afterburner - max speed still stock 885mhz. only can OC memory speed
Maybe msi only support forceware ver 296. Anyway, no 296 version from Lenovo yet. Anyone manage to OC core speed with Afterburner?
Kinda waste if not overclock core as the GT650 with DDR3 version (eg clevo) all run at stock GTX 660 speed anyway.
However, the memory speed is really overclockable...

guys I have a problem:

I installed windows 7 on my laptop and when everything is done, reverted back to HDD boot device priority. All it loads is the initial lenovo startscreen, then it went blank with a blinking underscore, and everything repeats itself ad infinitum. what could be the issue?

Things I've done:

-multiple OS reinstall = not CD install issue
-swap hard drive with friends laptop = both HDD intact
+My HDD can boot his laptop
+his HDD can boot my laptop

the the issue is:
my HDD can't boot my laptop

7200rpm to 5400rpm.
Might as well get AP sets. Let's see if they will release FHD variant at the end of this month.

you can get it cheaper from people here. make sure only to buy from trusted sellers.
Also remember the memory is 1600mhz, not 1333mhz

According to Y480 owner bashlyner said in chinese forum HERE.
We need to email the receipt to Lenovo to register for 2 yrs warranty for Y480 official set, otherwise its only one yr warranty.
So, remember to keep ur receipt & register ur 2 yrs warranty with Lenovo for Y480/ Y580.

Most probably FHD Y580 will launch this month as stated in their FB, to compete with FHD N56vz@3599 launch today & G55vw.
Hopefully it price around 3599-3699 to remain competative.
