QUOTE(ytlay @ Jul 4 2012, 10:45 PM) There is a guide for Y580 in chinese site HERE.Take note DVD location was not specially designed for HDD, as it don't ve proper HDD ventilation & shock protection. Watch out the warranty sticker as u may void the warranty if broken. Alternatively, choose a suitable cooler with fan pointing to ventilation hole is a more simple solution. Killer model sure sell like hot cake . May be Lenovo holding some stocks for coming PC fair so watch out & be fast. iirmc DDR1600 + DDR1333 = DDR1333 performance, its better to get the same speed ram for faster performance. New generation of DV6 still no sign in the market. Guess we ve to wait till they clear their current inventories during pc fair. Are you using Y580 right now? What cooler would you suggest? Thanks.

QUOTE(deepcool0922 @ Jul 6 2012, 01:41 PM) I did some digging. I found that US version of Y580 does not support Intel Smart Response Technology. Here's the link : Y580 Mini ReviewAnother link : http://forum.notebookreview.com/ideapad-es...-thread-38.html (Refer to post 374) I'm not sure if malaysia version will be the same. According to this, Lenovo Y580 with MSataSeems like it's pretty good to add in a MSata, instead of swapping the whole hard disk. Might go for this but Msata 120GB still costs more than 600

It's like cheated. 7200rpm to 5400rpm. Might as well get AP sets. Let's see if they will release FHD variant at the end of this month.

QUOTE(Uchiha_Itachi1991 @ Jul 14 2012, 11:31 AM) if the price go to rm3699 or higher for fhd, then ppl would rather spend a bit more to get a real gaming laptop such the asus g55 or msi ge series d... The main reason I am getting Y580 instead of Asus G55 is the weight. Asus G55 3.7KG is no kidding man, 'cause I am carrying my laptop around everyday. MSI design is not to my liking so No MSI for me.

Got myself a Y580 FHD. The laptop is simply awesome. Best value for money.
Added on August 11, 2012, 11:10 amOn my nvidia control panel, I only see 3D Settings followed by Adjust image settings with preview Manage 3D settings Set Physx Configuration
Do i have to set the default graphic processor to nvidia? If i play games, i suppose the laptop will be using the GTX 660M to render the graphics right?

QUOTE(xeoctic @ Aug 11 2012, 12:36 PM) where do you buy your laptop?? so far any heat problem? I bought it at Notebook shop @ Digital Mall PJ. I played few matches of DOTA 2. The laptop got hot especially the left keyboard side. Once I finished the game, the heat will go off very fast. I am using CM notepal U3 BTW.
