i was pointing out that the query should've been posted there. but since we're in the habit of not caring for properly threaded queries and posts;

Don't know whether I should keep/sell my MBP and get the new one...or just wait for a few years, can't really keep up with technology tho.

Anyone else with RDMBP have this problem where the battery estimated time keeps changing? As of typing this, I'm at 96% with estimated time of 4:01. But just 3 minutes ago I took this screenshot and it shows 5:12.

Is this normal or is something wrong with my battery? What it should be showing is 7:xx.

it depends on your setting.
brightness level, is flash running and etc.
the 7 hours apple advertised is for wireless web browsing at 50% brightness

I am having the c2d 15 mbp too. Same age like yours. But i am planning my next mac is going to be mba 11 inch.. Haa.i think it can handle the works i am doing especially video editing. The upgradeable to 8GB RAM is the most hype to see from MBA.

Well, not appropriate for painting works anyway due to screen size which i have to face it everyday.

After these years, MBP is darn heavy whenever i traveling back and forth from hometown..
The "feather" weight and powerful processor on MBA seems to beyond my MBP spec. But the built-in GPU card and Big Screen which makes me think twice to sell off my MBP.

the GPU card is already a few years out-dated but it still can manage most latest games that i interested. So, it don't really becomes an obsolete machine in my daily usage.

From 15inch downgrade to 11inch screen... Hmmm..

Anyone doing this and no regret?

If got a car to carry MBP is perfectly fine.. but by walking... Ewww...

hahha i do have the 13' mba. but i feel having two laptops seems pretty redundant. i bought the mba late last year when i needed to travel. now its an alternative laptop. for me, i dont feel the 'reliability' of the mba, with it having sucha small hdd and with it being so thin and refine, you wud think that it wudnt be able to handle massive jobs. hence i only use it for perhaps some light editing etc on the go. i am thinking i still need a powerhouse to handle my workload.. rclxub.gif

That is not a black hole. that is the image of that shitty HP Z1 keyboard Lowyat.net idiotically advertised in the AppleByte section as their advertisement. (why they advertise a bloody PC brand in a Mac-exclusive section is beyond me).

He did not expand the browser to full width, therefore can only see that shitty keyboard.
