Apple is definitely looking to kill the Macbook Pro somewhere down the line.

Weather it's before the iMac or after is hard to say.

But any form of new desktop or laptop product announcement is most likely 6-8 months away.

I am having the c2d 15 mbp too. Same age like yours. But i am planning my next mac is going to be mba 11 inch.. Haa.i think it can handle the works i am doing especially video editing. The upgradeable to 8GB RAM is the most hype to see from MBA.

Well, not appropriate for painting works anyway due to screen size which i have to face it everyday.

After these years, MBP is darn heavy whenever i traveling back and forth from hometown..
The "feather" weight and powerful processor on MBA seems to beyond my MBP spec. But the built-in GPU card and Big Screen which makes me think twice to sell off my MBP.

the GPU card is already a few years out-dated but it still can manage most latest games that i interested. So, it don't really becomes an obsolete machine in my daily usage.

From 15inch downgrade to 11inch screen... Hmmm..

Anyone doing this and no regret?

If got a car to carry MBP is perfectly fine.. but by walking... Ewww...

Rm600 saves me a lot, judging on the price of this beats.
upgrading the RAM to 16GB already cost RM612
so its more like a free upgrade for me

c2d machine not ideal for those workload, hopefully this rMBP will solve your problems.

I just got myself a retina mbp. The display is gorgeous, however it is normal that the bottom area of screen is darker than the upper part? I noticed the bottom part is slightly darker or yellowish.

It is normal?

does mac screen changes it colour when you are using it? I am in the airport now... and it seems to have a red tint  colour from time to time, making white colour not so accurate

i using logitech wireless mouse...it makes me feel like not sensitive

Am using the Logitech M950 with Darkfield laser sensor with my rMBP. Very very sensitive and awesome.
I was using the Orochi for a short period right before I sold it off. There is this irritating ~1 second lag when the mouse awakes from sleep, and the mouse sleeps very fast when in wireless mode (like if left idle for just a minute or less.. can't really remember).

It doesn't affect much when gaming as your mouse is constantly moving all the time, but when you are doing some proper productive work or even surfing the web.. it can be hell of irritating when the mouse keeps 'lagging' to wake up after being left idle. 

Also, the mouse is kinda too small for my hand but I love the look of it (I had the Black Chrome version which looks really cool!  )

it's a preference thing I guess. it'll irk me to no end seeing that extra layer of thickness at the wall plug if using an adapter ._.

Quite costly then, i remember when i was oversea buying extended warranty from places like harvey norman or d*** smith for apple product or computers isnt quite as costly and u can max it to 5 yrs.

Ya, just curious why nobody in Malaysia or Lowyat Forum complain about this. Maybe they send all the good quality MacBook Pro RD to Malaysia? Haha..
