where did you get it from?
RMBP?
*
Bought from Macstudio LYP.
With the help from Stringfellow, managed to get the first MBP RD 512 GB. First unboxing at the shop itself. biggrin.gif

a thin and light 13" rmpb will kill the reason to own a 13" mac book air. and we can't be sure if its going to be released or not since the story is just a speculation by a credible analyst based on an online battery log  hmm.gif
*
Furthermore, it needs all the big space for battery to last 7 hours.
And the space for heat dissipation.
I also don't believe Apple will introduce MBPRD 13" so soon.

Planning to buy the new MBP 15" RD but read news that the MDP 13" RD is coming out in Oct...

Currently still using MBP 13" since Dec 2008 when unibody first came out....  so 13" is ideal for me... 15" is a little too big for me to carry it around... but nowdays only carry iPad3 everywhere with all my docs in Dropbox.. a much lighter solution..
*
Don't believe the MBPRD 13" rumors. Apple marketing strategy will not kill the current MBA and MBP. They have studied well.
I have an MBA 13" but when I have the 15" MBPRD, the speed and display was damn fast, I will not turn back to smaller screen. The MBPRD is light enough to carry.

bahhh... this kinda rumours that's gonna be dwelling in my mind whether to get the new mbp right now or wait for the retina 13" (if it ever gonna be released)  sweat.gif but we cant keep with the best technology all the time, can we?  tongue.gif
*
We can't keep up with the latest technology but at least we can fully utilize it when its still new....
I for one is an "early adopter"... And I believe some of use here are also "early adopters". We have to premium to be one but at least we are satisfied in what we buy.... Use to the fullest and you will never regret...

@edoras/stringfellow

regarding magsafe 2, do you guys find it flimsy?
if you're placing the Mac on the bed, will it easily come off?
*
Flimsy? I think its design to make it easily come off when you trip the magsafe...

i understand that.
but compared to the "L" shaped magsafe, which is it better?
since putting it on the bed will cause unevenness and might detach the new Magsafe 2 because of its design
*
Its slightly easier to be detach with Magsafe2 design due to its design to plug straight instead of the L shape.
Actually, I prefer this way. tongue.gif Safer..

Hyperjuice 100Wh External MacBook battery I had for MacBook Air previously, I can stay off the grid (away from power outlet) longer.
*
Hi String - I have not made any survey yet but I wonder why did you choose the Hyperjuice 100Whr External Macbook battery? Any specific reason?
Did you buy in Low Yat? How much is it?

Hi guys, any recommendations for a good laptop bag for Macbook Pro?

Thanks
*
I am still using my Solo Vintage - Leather Backpack which I bought for my MBA 13".
It fits my new 15" MBPRD nicely.

The low end 11" MBA looks quite cheap and almost the same price as the high end new iPad 3 (plus RM 300).. brows.gif

I have a problem...my macbook is taking forever to shut down, its running the circle moving thing at the bottm...already 2 hours, what should i do?? or more like what can i do? is this mac's way of blue screen??
*
Press on/off button until it shuts down. But don't do this frequently. It might corrupt your HDD later.

While waiting for my RMBP to arrive, i was wondering whats the best way to transfer my files over.
Time machine? or do it manually?
also worried about iTunes synchronization of my iPhone, don't wish to reset it sad.gif
*
Use Migration Assistant and Time Machine backup. Simplest and hassle free. Not only data, but all your apps and previous settings are maintained.

So basically just like putting all the data into the same places and setting into new MacBook pro right?
Hmmm but will it like using more spaces?
*
Yes, same places and setting into the new MBP. It will use the same space as your last backup to the Time Capsule.
If you want to set new, it can be good because you will not carry the "rubbish" over to your new MBP. However, you have to reinstall the the apps all over again one by one. You will have to learn where you place your data folders since everything is new.

What I concern is heat dispersion since MBP RD is thinner. Can MBP RD owners elaborate more information about heat dispersion in MBP RD?
*
I also thought that heat will be much less with MBPRD... Unfortunately, I am wrong... Its still hot sitting on my lap.. sad.gif

Very well depends on your usage actually. You cannot expect such a good workhorse generate lesser heat than normal if you run heavy loaded programs at the same time
*
Normal usage like email and browsing.
However, its not as hot as my old 2010 MBA... tongue.gif

*
Buy the cheaper one and you can still format to Mac OS Journaled (if required).
