QUOTE(emino @ Jul 1 2012, 08:59 PM) that photo is good. From my limited knowledge, a low iso will produce low noise but is not suitable for low light scenes. A higher iso will produce better looking low light photos but introduce noise. So your pic was a low light @ nightime pic, with a low iso of 200 and still looking 'bright'. Is this correct sifus ? |

QUOTE(Eoma @ Jul 1 2012, 09:53 PM) that photo is good. I play around with exposure value as well. the EV is adjusting either the aperture, the shutter, or the ISO to acquire the correct exposure
since ur ISO locked at 200, and the 808 aperture is fixed, so end up just left the shutter speed is adjustable take a look of ur pic exif info. it shows tat the exposure time is 0.3 sec which is quite a slow exposure time/shutter speed slower shutter speed means more light coming in = longer exposure time so ur pic looks bright even just ISO200 is reasonable, nth wrong with it. and for ur information, EV+ means longer exposure time and EV- means shorter, that's why u'll see brighter scene when EV+ and darker when EV- Added on July 1, 2012, 10:35 pm QUOTE(WyMeng @ Jul 1 2012, 08:23 PM) OMG!! u're welcomethank you Feimeng.. you're my Hero! the only thing that I missed was holding the menu+camera+voldown buttons while power on but not release the power button. I pushed all of them for long time. to be clear, the manual should tell this; 1) press & hold the menu+camera+volumedown buttons. Dont release them. 2) now press power button. When NOKIA text appears, release power button. Dont release the 3 buttons in step 1 yet. Release them only when nokia hands show up. Thank you Feimeng. It works. good to hear that it helps This post has been edited by feimeng: Jul 1 2012, 10:35 PM |

what sifu said is right but the result depends like the Nokia Lumia 900 there is no way to achieve what the 808 pureview have even at aperture F2.4 when the Nokia Lumia 900 aperture is F2.2 . In certain situation if the sensor have insufficient light how you adjust the EV you wont see any effect.
For a mobile phone the result at ISO 200 is quite stunning. Just look due to the big sensor of F1/1.2 you notice how sensitive the sensor is to light. WP_000897 by JTproductions, on FlickrThe above photo is taken by Nokia Lumia 900 even at ISO 100 look at the noise. If this very same image is taken by a Nokia 808 pureview you will be shocked how much detail you will see with less noise. If you zoom you notice there no detail at all. But look at the photo taken by sifu emino look how much details it have. This post has been edited by aspire2oo6: Jul 1 2012, 10:50 PM |

I wanted to ask about this. In this pic, the Alienware logo is supposed to be in purple color as reflected on the keyboard, but the color produced is nearly white. Why?

Why? White balance caused it..imo, N9's autp-white balance much more accurate than 808's auto white balance..I may be wrong ![]() 2012-07-01-0384.jpg by riezforester, on Flickr |

I had that similar issue on L900 When u see the view finder its the right colour but snap it becomes another colour.
Maybe you try this choose a specify white balance then reduce the EV. I suspect the shutter speed is messing it all up from your previous photos. Btw what scene are you on? This post has been edited by aspire2oo6: Jul 1 2012, 11:03 PM |

Why? my wild guess is the Alienware logo over expose (too bright) as if white balance out it should affect the kb purple color as well... try focus on the logo to bring down the overall EV or set -EV and capture again u might get the purple color u wanted... ![]() 2012-07-01-0384.jpg by riezforester, on Flickr |
