Hi any chance you can post some screen shots of your vlan setup in the tomato interface itself rather than the ones that are up? I have just installed one of the tomato variants onto my wrt54GL which has vlans so I can use with maxis but its very confusing if you havent done it before.

much thanks
*
I tried the VLAN-enabled Tomato firmwares but it doesn't go high enough for the WRT54GL chipsets... so don't think it works.

just sharing here. I was setting sipdroid successfully and it worked. thanks to viknela for valued infomation
now my setup is Alcatel Lucent modem + tl wr1043nd with openwrt + smart phone with voip/sip app installed

for those interested u can download from market search for sipdroid or other voip/sip app.

here is the setting for sipdroid,

authorization username: 03xxxxxxxx
password: 03xxxxxxx1 or phonebill account number+ phone number last 4 digits
server or proxy: bvgw01.maxis.com.my
domain: homesip.maxis.com.my
you can tick any network you like wifi,3g and edge

updated: not all working in unifi network and talktime limit to 10minutes per call maybe this is maxis limitation for non standard voip setting

almost same method but u will lose voip function unless u replace thomson with router those have phone port. another option is to keep using thomson for voip only

Thanks for the reply. Let say I want to put

A-L BTU -> Custom router (Internet & Wifi) and use back thomson for voip, what do I need to do since I can't access the A-L BTU to change the VLAN and port binding in step 4 from 1st page?

And can I reuse back my TPlink router which was previously configured to Unifi?

first i don't have enough time to try this setup yet but i believe it will work

for internet:
u don't need to change anything inside A-L BTU, just connect the BTU to your new router. tag your new router ppoe port as vlan 621 so that u can dial up to maxis ftth. connect your new router wan port to AL-BTU.

for voip:
set a lan port as untagged and connect your thomson wan port to this lan port. let the phone connect to your thomson like default maxis ftth setup

i will requote this post later after i finish doing it for my home. hope it helps

Those who still using Thompson router but want to change the DNS, can backup a copy of the setting [user.ini] open with notepad and find
CODE

pool config name=LAN_private state=enabled allocation=dynamic intf=LocalNetwork poolstart=192.168.1.64 poolend=192.168.1.253 netmask=24 gateway=192.168.1.254 server=192.168.1.254 leasetime=86400 lockouttime=180

change to
CODE

pool config name=LAN_private state=enabled allocation=dynamic intf=LocalNetwork poolstart=192.168.1.64 poolend=192.168.1.253 netmask=24 gateway=192.168.1.254 server=192.168.1.254 primdns=8.8.8.8 secdns=8.8.4.4 leasetime=86400 lockouttime=180 localdns=disabled

save it and restore back to the router..
in this way the comp will auto get 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as DNS through DHCP..

yup. Once I restore the user.ini to router, the router reboots and then i redownload back the user.ini.

Did I did something wrong?

How I did it

1. go to 192.168.1.254
2. Technicolor gateway -> Configuration -> Backup current configuration
3. Save user.ini to desktop
4. Edit user.ini using notepad with the new string
5. Save user.ini
6. Technicolor gateway -> Configuration -> Restore configuration now with the new user.ini
7. Router rebooted and redownload back the user.ini to check if the new config sticks but no it did not.

I've done all this using Wifi

good to hear that you've changed it successful smile.gif
btw here is my current setup.. I configured the VoIP to the HG850a instead of the TG784n v3 then replace the TG784n v3 with my DD-WRT loaded DIR825.. way better than the TG784n v3.. I cant miss the features that provided by DD-WRT.. tongue.gif
