Yup, exactly this. You'll have to reduce the quality if you want to stream faster.
To do that, you'll have to rotate the video to landscape mode, then press on the "HD" button to toggle to low quality (probably 360p or 240p).
Do note that there is a difference between HD and HQ. HD = 720p HQ = 480p
I find "HQ" still streams at a tolerable speed.
Otherwise, the browser actually stream just as fast as the youtube app.
