I am sure this is gonna be the best PnS on the market
But for that price it really should have a touchscreen function
below 2k sounds more reasonable

Just got the RX100 from Zaloon. Fantastic little camera. Will complement and/or alternate between this and NEX7 especially when the need for traveling light arises.

Sony centers have begun displaying test units. Smaller than expected only slightly
bigger than my S95. Solid Build quality buttons and rear wheel better than Canon. The front control ring has no clicking feel but is quite firm to rotate. Wonder if it will loosen with use. |

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Aug 6 2012, 06:56 PM) 1600 or 800 if you start pixel-peeping. And 1080p50 on this blows the NEX7 1080p out of the water. www.tonimartin.com.br/2012/07/22/sony-rx100-review/ Cant find locally Sony's own LCJ-RXA case for the RX100. Looks like I'll have to look elsewhere. Singapore or in Frankfurt. Going there tomorrow. This post has been edited by stringfellow: Aug 6 2012, 07:23 PM |

As for Frankfurt, I'm heading to Zeil Shopping district as well as Nordwestzentrum. Otherwise I'll go eBay.I think you'll have better luck in Singapore... that 2 camera shops within walking distance from Frankfurt HBF dun carry much things. |

QUOTE(alangeorge @ Aug 8 2012, 02:23 PM) He edited the jpegs using adobe photoshop.QUOTE *If you’re wondering why I didn’t use the supplied software, I did – but I stopped soon after starting, because frankly, like every other manufacturer-produced converter, it’s crap. Excruciatingly slow, doesn’t give you as much flexibility as ACR, and just doesn’t integrate into the rest of my workflow. It takes me less time to compensate for JPEG limitations than work around the raw converter, and in the end, the results are still better. |

hi guys, went over to one of the Sony center in Gurney Plaza, they still did not have the display unit out but when I approached one of the sales person, I was half surprised that he said they have the unit already. Open up the drawer and showed me the box. Price wise? RM2499... free 8GB memory card and case. Woah, I bet we can get it at much cheaper price elsewhere, so without the ability to test, I just thanked him and walked away.
It got me thinking, should I opt for other similar size CSC camera (m4/3, Nikon 1, Canon EOS-M eventually?) or to just go with this super compact which can have its lens collapse completely, no future upgrade possibility and at a very expensive price. I want a decent camera which shoots excellent video compared to a smartphone. Holding out on Nikon V1 for a few months... and now this excellent little shooter surfaced... not to mention, there would be new camera announcements soon, possibly Nikon 1 updated camera, LX7, EOS-M, etc. Decisions, decisions... |
