Hi all, attached are my 2 sticks used in my Y480.

My questions:

The timing for the Samsung 1600 stick is 11-11-F3 right? and the Team Elite 1333 is 9-9-9-24. Can they work well with different speed and CL?
How do optimize this pair, without changing any of them? I try not to sell and buy again if possible.
*
As far as i know, your Team Elite 1333 will change its timing to match with your Samsung RAM while downclocked to 1333MHz. As for optimizing the pair, not sure. Different timing with different clock rate RAM combination really doesn't fit well.

not sure since the bd-drive provided cannot burn blu-ray disc
MSE tu microsoft security essentials, free antivirus from microsoft.. been using it since beta days.. smile.gif
as for gc, i'll check later, probably will use other stuff to test/monitor it

Yep, since it will make backup based on default factory settings... The reason we need to make recovery disc is because microsoft didn't provide us with win 7 oem disc nowadays. So, if anything happen & u need to format, just recover it using the disc.
*
oh ya... stupid me.. forgot it is a bluray reader only

ohh... but i think mccafee should be better right since have to pay 1

please do check... just wanna make sure the 660gtx is not a nerfed 1, asked deepcool b4 but he didnt reply

errr, i saw angmoh forum they download legal windows oem, then put in ur own cd/license key lor... if u happen to lose ur cd/partition

hi thx. I understand 9-9-9-24 (Team Elite 1333), but what is 11-11-F3 (this is on Samsung 1600 4gb stick)? i guess not only the 1600 MHz will dg to 1333, the Team Elite's CL will be dragged to 11 right?

Yes correct. Both sticks will 'adapt' to the slowest timing and frequency of the slower stick. This is to ensure overall compatibility is achieved. That is why most would advise installing the same stick. Essentially they don't need to be of the same brand. Just same speed in terms of frequency and timings.

yup... thats y most of the brand will sell the RAM in two stick to make it fully compatible and give the best performance on dual channel... smile.gif

no, not normal, the first 4 items should be > 7.0, only the hdd is 5.9 (using 5400rpm), overall = 5.9.

I checked it again, my gtx660m really has memory speed at 1250MHz (2500MHz double rate) on y580. Even on Asus G-series thread, I saw people posting furmark test result for their G55 had gtx660m run at 1250Mhz also. Even on deepcool test also record the same value before he oc it

Set power to high performance or lenovo dynamic power. Either that or windows took the index from the HD4000

Anyway i have a 1600mhz samsung 4gb ram, the same as stock. Anybody interested pm me to discuss.

Oh, few days ago I wonder why my Kingston 1600 RAM is compatible with the default RAM, so I take out and see and found that both rams are using same chipset (hynix )

They are standard clocks. The higher the DRAM frequency, bandwidth the higher the CL. Some manage to speed bin better grade memory chips to run lower CL, so they go into a special category of products. Thats why they are being differentiated from standard modules and thus sold at a more expensive price.

To add further, its a very small gain. This article would provide more into perspective: Memory Speed vs Latency
