i'm using y580 fhd also, the blu-ray model.... to make recovery disc, just press the button beside the power button. then pick create recovery disc and choose the factory default recovery disc option. for me, it took 4 dvd and near 2 hours tongue.gif
as for your speaker, not sure whether it's problematic or not. try play some other sound and check whether the right speaker still got buzzing sound smile.gif
*
wth!!! 4 dvds for recovery disk? possible to do blueray recovery disk? hmm.gif

QUOTE(kevin.chowt @ Aug 25 2012, 12:48 AM)
it's the laptop speaker. i played sleep away in the default library in normal mode. In some part will have those kind of buzzing sound. Hmm... unsure.gif  unsure.gif

not sure since the bd-drive provided cannot burn blu-ray disc
MSE tu microsoft security essentials, free antivirus from microsoft.. been using it since beta days.. smile.gif
as for gc, i'll check later, probably will use other stuff to test/monitor it

Yep, since it will make backup based on default factory settings... The reason we need to make recovery disc is because microsoft didn't provide us with win 7 oem disc nowadays. So, if anything happen & u need to format, just recover it using the disc.
*
oh ya... stupid me.. forgot it is a bluray reader only

ohh... but i think mccafee should be better right since have to pay 1

please do check... just wanna make sure the 660gtx is not a nerfed 1, asked deepcool b4 but he didnt reply

errr, i saw angmoh forum they download legal windows oem, then put in ur own cd/license key lor... if u happen to lose ur cd/partition

QUOTE(XionCity @ Aug 25 2012, 08:22 AM)
i have no choice but to use ori bitdefender 2013....cause is a free gift license software from the shop i bought this laptop

I checked it again, my gtx660m really has memory speed at 1250MHz (2500MHz double rate) on y580. Even on Asus G-series thread, I saw people posting furmark test result for their G55 had gtx660m run at 1250Mhz also. Even on deepcool test also record the same value before he oc it
*
2500mhz on double rate? are u sure? post some image la...

i think some laptops have the hdd protection software... where they freeze the hdd when there's a lot of movement to protect it... i know my thinkpad has it, a bit annoying cause keep freezing while watching movie on d bus.. those that dont have will get easily damaged if moved around?

Yup, in the factory setting, office starter is there. But nowadays I don't really use MS Office. Mostly I will be using OpenOffice.  rclxms.gif

Btw, I can't seem to find the boot optimizer in the application and driver folder in the stock machine.

Any idea how well that boot optimizer works and where I can get it?
*
so urs is 3630 and starter is there?

my company uses office so if use open, the alignment will go off lor...

i think optimizer just defrag n close certain startup progs lor

QUOTE(kuroneko0509 @ Sep 11 2012, 05:02 PM)
if using ssd, no need boot optimizer & defrag la  biggrin.gif

okays... i think that 1 instead makes it slower
