hey fren, your N55 is also a very nice machine. I'd say, unless your n55 now is too slow or can't serve your pruposes, or else, just use until it has reached its full potential. there is no end in chasing newer models - they just keep coming every year... i'd bet in 2013, the market will be flooded with lappies with specs better than y480/580 at even lower prices...

RM 3400 - 3500 would be fair price.

if you live in klang valley, can try this guy:

this is just 1 of them, there are at least a dozen of them listing their post in Trade Zone -> Garage Sales -> Notebooks & Tablets.

Happy hunting, and report back to us your deal.

I plan to buy one SSD, one hybrid drive, and HDD candy bay for it la...
SSD just need to boot OS(so 64GB/60GB) should be enough, and hybrid driver(think of buy 500GB) is to store program and personal data...
That default 500GB HDD take out and become external HDD..lol

Hi thanks for the suggestion. My N55 really is nice until today, but the thing is, my laptop is for gaming purpose, i can set to highest setting in games but not Ultra.. GTA IV is the game that i played the most, due to ENB mods which make my gta iv more realistic, sometime i lagg..

OS + updates roughly 25 - 30 GB if accumulated. Programs roughly 10gb if you are a light user. Thats already 40 GB. Remaining 12 GB or so only can accommodate 1 game. Go figure biggrin.gif

Standard RRP lor. At first they said RM3699 but found out they bundle useless stuff = cheat money.

Yeah 60GB almost fit it. If don't want to bother with transplanting HDD to the optical drive area, can just get a mSATA. There's one seller selling 80GB for RM500. Pricey but just drop-in style biggrin.gif

Some may not want to sacrifice the Bluray and still want the 1TB drive for dumping site. So the mSATA seems a viable option provided you have spare change lol!

If stock come with 32GB mSATA SSD, its for caching using Intel SRT. Basically its a RAID mirror to your HDD but only mostly used applications and files are cached there in effort to improve response time. I experienced this with the Inspiron 15R SE before. Boot up speed is really good (with all the junks and crapware). Its good enough.

One thing i notice about the beta nvidia driver that i really like is that the battery life is amazing! I can get 4 hours with normal web surfing compared to the shitty stock driver which i can only achieve 2 hours max. biggrin.gif
