Finally bought my Y580 FHD at Lowyat yesterday.
The carrying back that they give are just too small, can't really fit the notebook nicely. Anyone feel the same? |

Using default DLink 615 Wireless Router provided by Unifi, in Task Manager -> Networking -> Wilress Network -> Link Speed:
Y580 (Intel 2200-N) = 74Mbps 1520 (Intel 4965AGN) = 144Mbps Why the link speed is so slow compare to my 4 years old laptop? Anyone has this issue? |

I am not sure if anyone have this same problem with me. (Y580)
The upper left part of the keyboard (near #2, 3, 4 keys) are very loose, and creating some funny sound when you type on them. This post has been edited by CKKwan: Sep 5 2012, 09:10 PM |

HELP! The LCD brightness control is NOT accurate. It is too bright.
At first, I feel fine with only 5 bars. (You will see the bar when press FN + Up/Down Arrow) Then reduced to 4 bars And now 1 bar also very bright!!! Is there a way to recalibrate the brightness? Or must send back for service? |

QUOTE(kuroneko0509 @ Sep 14 2012, 06:47 PM) sometimes the brightness bar that displays when u adjust is wrong.... just reduce/increase the brightness to min/max then adjust so that the brightness bar is right Yes, this temporarily fixed the issue.Seems like the Brightness Control has a much wider dynamic range than the actual LCD back light can handle. When I turn to Max, then Min again, the backlight is so dim that it can't stays on consistently, and started to flicker. When I turn to Min, then Max again, the backlight is too brigh Can only adjust no less than 4 bars to the minimum and maximum. Hope lenovo can fix this problem. |

Dear All,
Anyone know if the Broadcom WIFI max at 72mbps for Y580? That is very bad, the transfer rate is only able to reach 2mBps while my 4 years old Dell can reach above 5mBps easily. |

QUOTE(developer @ Sep 19 2012, 08:02 AM) laptop also having the same issue. not only mine, few of my friend also having the same issue. So which driver are you using now? I can't find any new driver for this Broadcom card, cause Lenovo didn't even mention which model we are having.now i am trying to install g580 driver see whether it is stable or not because g580 got september driver. if not i gonna go for asus driver as asus has newer driver. if i still cannot solve it i gonna send to lenovo ask them change a wifi adapter. this broadcom got so many problem.. Added on September 19, 2012, 8:03 am noticed that also. especially under wifi N. i updated the driver and now i need to test some more. the signal is also weak compared with other competitors model. am currently using 5.100.82.112 (stock lenovo drivers) saw that HP has drivers for 5.100.82.139 that is released on 2012-07-13 and i found out that asus has version 6.30.59.0. |

QUOTE(developer @ Sep 20 2012, 05:39 AM) i dont think you need a new driver. i uninstalled mcafee and the wifi issue ok already. Nope, I uninstalled McaFee the 1st day I got this notebook.I tried to reformat and re-install win7 as well. But still can only get max 72mbps only. While my 4.5 years old Dell can easily get 150mbps on the same wireless router. |

QUOTE(lee_what2004 @ Sep 20 2012, 01:40 PM) Some says its an early draft-n wifi card, so might have incompatibility issues. I don't think that is the issue. Because my 4.5 years old Dell was using Intel 4965agn, and it is a Draft-N. I am still able to reach 144mbps on the same router.Anyone opened the wifi card and it got two antenna or one antenna attached ? So, 4.5 years later BCM 4313 is still on Draft-N? And the speed is lowered? |

QUOTE(lee_what2004 @ Sep 20 2012, 04:01 PM) Seems like BCM4313 is single stream only, hence max is 72Mbps That is really sucks big time..... http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Wireless-Inte...ion/td-p/401445 |
