What's the difference between the NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M DDR3 2GB (14R) and the AMD Radeon™ HD 7730M DDR3 2GB (15R)?

Just uninstalled the Face Recognition thing. I don't use it and I find it annoying. After installing startup feels faster.

According to Notebookcheck they give around the same performance (they're ranked next to each other).

I was leaning towards the 14R because it has NVIDIA, but the bigger (+ FHD) screen and SSD cache of the 15R more than makes up for it.

i would personally go for the opposite...there isnt much diff between gt640 and 7730M...however the 15R if u choose to spend more, u will get a 15" FHD (which is way way better than a 14"HD screen) and msata ssd which will help increase the os booting and overall speed

Screen wise yes. But having a FHD screen do puts a heavier load on the gpu. But of course, that build would cost more than 3k rite ?

Added on June 29, 2012, 9:25 amAnyway, previously i stated that dell will be sending me a new set and i'll be getting it back by the 10th of next month. Charged me rm2719 instead of rm2999. biggrin.gif

When I get my 15R (FHD spec) I'll run a few tests and let y'all know the results.

--- EDIT ---

The ETA changed to 9/7/2012 shakehead.gif

its because dell sent a delivery courier to my place and retrieve my lappie and they invoice me rm80 for it. so they charged me rm 2719 for the lappie.
