well, been leaving it idle since 1pm till now, no heating issues. and yes, it does feel a bit plastic to me coz of its design i guess. yea i'll be uploading a few pics, sry for the late posting as i was a lil bit busy. i played a few rounds of LoL just now at very high settings and benchmark fps, no problem at all about offline games i havent try it out yet. will test it later or tomorrow. and btw, all the usb ports are 3.0.

You might want to check with devour again since he just mentioned that the Inspiron 15R SE offered by dealers are a bit different from what you get online i.e. they come with Nvidia GT640M instead..
You do get better software support (Photoshop etc) for Nvidia cards, although that depends on what softwares you're using
But if you're only using for gaming, I guess getting the AMD card will do as well

pretty much.. they're much closer to software developers than amd imo. still, "depends on what softwares you're using".

How to get the Student Price from Dell?

1. getting an i7 will mean higher heat, best to avoid if you're using for gaming only... get an i7 only if your work requires the additional processing power
2. 500GB (7200rpm) is actually better than a 1TB (5400rpm) HDD since its significantly faster Upgrade to hybrid HDDs or SSD instead if you have the money
3. as what iori_argami has mentioned, RAM its better to upgrade yourself since its cheaper doing that~

the 15R SE FHD cannot use the coupun discount eventhough I'M a student because the laptop cost more thn 3k  but when i used the dell chat, the guy told me, I can get he FHD set fo RM 3250 if I I'm student....... so can i use the coupun or notfor the FHD set ?

is it adviceable to take 3years warranty from dell??

I just got off the phone with Dell, and they are not willing to give me a rebate. 

They say every week different promotion, they cannot keep giving previous customers rebates because of that.

I'm gonna receive my new Dell tomorrow. Thinking about returning it and then ordering again for the cheaper price, but it is very troublesome 

I received my 15R SE with 32GB SSD this morning.

Quite satisfied with it so far. Only thing is I still don't know how to utilize the SSD. I thought it will be like another hard disk that will appear in My Computer but its not there.

Then I checked the tray at the bottom right corner and found an Intel Rapid Start thingy that shows my 32GB SSD is there. But I still have no idea how to access it lol

Lol... havent even got my dell 15r SE and the price already dropped by 10% and the Lenovo Y580 looks like a better value-for-money laptop with the gtx660.

Okay, so does it mean that the 32GB is just something like RAM, I can't use it to store files?
Sigh, I understand how you feel too.  But I'm leaving to study at Australia soon and don't have the time do return and get a new one or something.
