QUOTE(tcchuin @ Jun 23 2012, 09:32 PM) you should take a snapshot of your keyboard and let us see what's the problem, I feel mine is acceptable:O keyboard not spoil...juz like the new keyboard is a non virgin vigina...lose....not sure if there'll be much positive effect by using laptop cooler, cause there's only one tiny vent below the compputer. I think for the cover, it's a plastic with aluminium coating. With the computer switched off and put in aircond room, the part wit 'aluminium coating' feels colder, yoou can compare it easily at the touchpad part. worse than my old keyboard more solid feel when pressing even already 3 yrs. so take what pic? have to poke only know. i am juz make clear for the cover coz there are people asking everywhere in the world. Added on June 24, 2012, 7:37 pm QUOTE(zorbyss. @ Jun 24 2012, 05:30 AM) Guys. After reading all the pages. Is 15r SE really that terrible? (Bsod, bad speakers, plasticky build, etc.) kinda attractive to me for the specs. i game a lot with the old babe 3670 on my sxps16, not the new games though. So am wondering which one is better 15r or 14r better for gaming? Looks like 640 has better performance but only 15r (which only comes with 7730) comes with FHD. Does 14r have FHD? Was thinking about n56 but the comments on their sales service is kinda pulling me off the deal with Asus. A lot of doubts. Wanted to change new lappy so badly man. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks. bsod--- some people get this not 100%Edit: the games i played are usually like CoD and BF3 (cant even play bf3 on my lappy, played on friend's desk) bad speaker---what do you want from the cute speaker? 18inch woofer no need sell edi, CMY in 1U can bankrap selling set of home hifi for >RM10,000. plasticky build---outer look only....the engine inside is not that bad as some other stupid brand outside. go chow kit ask....boss, i wan big breast, big butt, young, nice looks and CHEAP...they will tell u pandai pandai lu sendiri pergi cari.... 14r no FHD, studio xps?downgrading if go for inspiron...same like me....very mis the old lap which robbed...even is core 2 duo. i will says try lenovo Y580 lerh....cakap dulu i only compare it from spec and price....do some research for review... Just bought a 14RSE. Hope I don't face the BSOD.
I've uninstalled McAfee and used CCleaner to block some of the unnecessary programs that start when Windows starts. |

QUOTE(ck.chunkeat @ Jun 25 2012, 11:08 PM) Oh ya,you mentioned that your old lappy broke down right? Can play Skyrim at High settings smoothly. Now got a new lappy, have fun with it and lets tf2 moar! Btw,is 14r se nice? So far haven't installed any other games... TF2 will be the next priority. Design is good, keyboard is decent, touchpad is responsive. Only complaint so far is the Dell bloatware that's installed, but I'm slowly removing them one by one... |

Some game benchmarks for the Dell Inspiron 14R Special Edition.
L4D2 - Settings all High - Can get around 60FPS constantly. Skyrim - High Settings - 40-50 FPS indoors - 30-40 FPS outdoors - First person view generally gets better FPS. TF2 - High Settings (DirectX 9) - Hard to benchmark because the FPS drops for no reason unless I ALT-TAB out then back in. - Sometimes can get 100+ FPS, sometimes drops to around 30+ FPS. - Highly recommend installing Chris TF2 Configs to boost FPS.
