My tanker DH finally finish the diablo inferno yesterday with my friends. It's works!! Atleast 3500 defend and 600 resis to all. I am using One hand bow 998dps with 70% critical plus 11% attack speed..
My hp 34k, resist 650, defend 3100, dps without ss is 39k

Your dps is definitely sufficient (assuming you've got good balance of dex, crit chance and crit dmg, IAS). I will suggest you to raise your armor to around high 3k or low 4k and hp around 40k and maintain your resist level.

I actually completed Inferno with low 30k dps, 4k armor, 0 all resist and ~30k hp. Note that I managed to complete and werent able to farm them till I raise my dps, all resist and hp further.

Right now, I can withstand 2-3hits from mobs hit which is good enough for me. The only real problematic mobs that I encounter so far are as mentioned earlier is Hulking Phasebeast. I have 43k dps w/o SS, 41k hp, 4.1k armor and ~230 all resist. Planning to raise my all resist further but equips are generally really expensive with high all resist on.
*
ya thanks for the advise, ya will try to raise to raise it further, as my dps mainly contributed by the 38% crit chance & 250% crit dmg with fairly low dex ~1600 only.

a quick survery to: with a limited budget, would you compromise the 12% movement speed for high AR and Dex for boots?

I guess Im a pretty lucky guy.Just farm act 2 but always got something to sell for 20-30mil every once in a while.

For the argument that skill>gear, you could also say that gearing up is also a skill, as the game is very gear dependent.

Im not against glass cannon, its just that its not optimal for pvp.
If you just want to clear inferno, glass cannon is probably the cheapest route to take.
If you build a balanced dh, you benefit more from others defensive skills.

I agree that gearing up with cost efficiently requires some knowledge and skill.
this guy prove that you can clear farm act 3, including kill ghom with just 4M worth of gear, start from naked.

PS: it's quite a long video, but definitely helpful

My preference will be to have 12% movement speed with dex and vit. Those boots are kinda cheap and it's extremely useful for survivability.

Glass cannon (stacking all dex only?) is probably the cheapest route prior to repair cost patch. Try it now and I think you will burn millions in no time. I have encountered extremely high dps DH (~150k to 200k dps) and dies like no tmr in Act 3 because they cant take a hit. But yeah, they kill a hell lot faster than me but a dead DH is as good as no dps.

Having a balance between survivability and dps is probably the cheapest route now. Able to take 1-2hits from normal mobs and have some decent dmg (at least can clear elite b4 enrage timer).

But I wont buy it now since Blizzard is going to buff the legendaries, i.e may have chance of lagendaries that will give same benefit 2x regen Discp brows.gif brows.gif ..but no need set.

I used to think that way. But it takes 1 affixes from the boot and makes a decent bootwith speed damn exp. I rather Max dex (since boot can go up to 250), High AR and some vit.
By the way speed wont do nuts if you meet fast minions. I have gone back to clatrops, with tourtous ground rune with Cull of the weak. Fits my build perfectly as I use Frost Arrow so I get the extra benefit from CoTW.

Haha wouldn't a boots with high dex, high AR and vit be more expensive compared to a boots with MR 12%, high dex and vit? Unless you managed to stack a good amount of AR with that boots, personally budget wise, MR + dex + vit is probably cheaper. With skills like smoke screen + vault with tactical advantage passive coupled with good amount of disc. You can probably out run most elites even with fast affix on it. The key thing that I like on MR is positioning, especially when I stack up with skills that also boast movement speed. My personal preference anyway. laugh.gif

i have been using a 150 dex, 140 vit, 10% MS and 30phy res and 18% boots.
i've looked at 2 options for now:
1. sage seeker - decent armor, 12%ms, and ok AR (50ish), +armor just that the dex is so-so 150, n rarely see vit. under 2m budget.
2. a rare with high dex 200+, so-so vit 80ish with 50 or 60AR and +armor for under 1m.

ya dunno which way to go wink.gif

Vit on boots are really expensive with AR, and the price is multiplied with ms.You have to compromise somewhere in between if you are in a budget.
The perfect end game boots are always gonna be 100mil min, thats just the cruel reality.

I ditched my boots with vit+50AR+dex(no ms) and picked up a Fire Walker with 0vit+dex+70AR+ms+melee red.

I really felt the difference switching from 0ms to 12ms, so I suggest you dont compromise on ms, sure will have culture shock.

inf act 2-3. if u have 30k hp, 1 hit KO. if 45k hp, still 1 hit KO. what's the difference?

if you like to take hits, then try barb or monk  biggrin.gif

1 hit KO? Doesn't occur to me that often compared to when I was glass cannon. Except super hard hitting packs or bosses, nothing one shot me now and even better with gloom.

The best part is? It can be easily achieved with only e0pk HP and 350 allres, though the more the better.

Yes glass cannon is still a viable choice for some, but not all. If you prefer glass cannon, by all means go ahead but that doesn't make it superior than balanced dh, or vice versa.

I agree with this, boots with these perfect stats are really expensive.. until now I couldn't find an upgrade without compromising my ms (24x dex, 8x vit, 4x fire resistance (lulz) and 12% ms)

My DH keep dying on Inferno Act 2 onwards when getting elite mob.
Mortar, Fast, Teleport types..

The stats now are like 50k dps, 40k HP, 3k armor, 200 ~ 300 all resist.

I guess we have to pump it up to 100k dps to get past Inferno Act 4?
QUOTE(kons @ Jul 19 2012, 11:40 PM)
Does that mean average DH cannot solo inferno?
*
my DH can solo Act I all the way.
Act II can solo all the way, until Belial
Act III pretty tough to solo already but can party decently, recently can tank Siegebreaker. Ghom is impossible at the moment.

my stats

54k dps with SS (about 18k clean), 30k HP, 3.5k armor, 800+/- on all resist

smile.gif come find me la. goldfries#6135 - I always play Act I / II. Occasionally Act III depending on who's available.
