ah, thx.

but then, what i can understand from the chart is that the higher your armor/resist, the greater the dmg reduction (duh!).

so why emphasize so much on the 10:1 sweet spot?

i been farming solo from start until now, in inferno act 3 now, no LoH, critical chance only 5% all the while , n critical damage only 50%. starting to feel bit difficult for act III inferno.

Current stat 600resist, 48kHP, 5k armor, 19K DPS unbuff, dual wielding

Damage Reduction (DR) is calculated like this:

Armor DR (ADR) = Armor / (50 × Monster Level + Armor)
Resist DR (RDR) = Resistance / (5 × Monster Level + Resistance)
Total DR = 1 - ((1 - DR from Armor) × (1 - DR from Resistance) × (1 - other DR))

In short, like what I said in my previous post:

simply put, if your resist = 800, armor = 8000. that is optimal.
if your resist = 800, and armor is just 6000. getting 10 more armor is better than 1 resist. so, you should pump more armor.
on the other hand, if armor = 8000, resist = 600. getting 1 points resist > 10 points armor.

lol ya,

just set your minimum target.

example. 650 res and 6k armor. The rest depends on your skill.
Even some strong monk still need to kite, you can watch them how to kite via streaming.

not so, wat i mean is gaming should be challenging and skillful, but not dump in money to get item then can be godmode in the game.

i feel Diablo 3 is too much item dependen.....for those who manage to get much gold to buy good item in AH or spend real money to buy item, then should be much more easy to completed the game until inferno.

for ppl who not going to dump real money into the game, it would be challenging to farm for gold, get good item, and complete inferno...

I actually had to create a mini-program to somewhat understand ur post.

So lets just take ur example of 8000 Armor + 800 Resist.
Attached Image
Based on the calculation, the dmg reduction is 92.56% from level 60 mobs.

To get the same dmg reduction for 600 Resist, one needs 10440 Armor. Which is +2440 Armor and -200 from the previous calculation.
Attached Image

And likewise, 1044 resist is needed to get the same dmg reduction for a person who has 6k armor. Which is -2k Armor and +244 Resist from the first calculation.
Attached Image

So what ur trying to say is, that it is much more cost-effective to maintain a 10:1 ratio? Ammarite?

If so, there's another problem to this theory: the goods in AH aren't exactly priced in favor to that ratio.

Sometimes the best goods within our budget may throw our beautiful ratio off the scale, but then the good itself is nonetheless a buff (lets just say, for example, the item we had an eye on adds to the overall resist but doesn't buff nor reduce armor). Wouldn't it be better to go for that good rather than ignoring it instead?

Don't know how you guys did it. I'm stucked at act 3, white mobs in the beginning melts me away........

800 LoH
500 resists
5k armors
30k hp
15-17k DPS
25% crit chance
210% crit dmg

I think I need more dps.... Now only with 1.5m can't buy anything better than my current weaps.......

shet shet shet shet shet
