guys what combinations are you using on your left/right click skills?

I'm using crippling + lashing tail + transcendence (for heals).. found out not only I'm dealing badass AOE dmg, I'm also tanking like a bawse..

I've equipped myself with atk speed and life leech......

You're doing it wrong.. if I'm partying, I'll use cyclone to suck in a bunch of mobs. Spams AOE and finished the mobs with full hp . I'll only use lashing tail on bosses or to cancel mobs with channeling skills. It'll interrupt their channeling.

And if you have 'Transcendence' passive, spam lashing tail to heal rapidly.

Monk = AOE crowd control, buffer, healer, tanker - if you're built correctly and a good player of course

Added on May 18, 2012, 12:10 amI just did Belial with a DH & a WD. DH is always the first to die. WD next. They thought the green circles on the ground are for show, they didn't even try to dodge them poison explosions..

Whats the DPS on that staff? 1.3x ?

Use transcendence passive..use a high damaging skill without CD and uses a lot of spirit (eg the bell skill)..I heal around 600+ when I use it once.. then I use FoT to generate spirit for its fast atk speed.. rinse repeat till he die..... (only applicable for normal mode lol)

You need more resist. I'm in Nightmare act 4 and my damage are around 2300-2500 in combat. My resist are all 170++, my life is 14k. You sir are in hell already and geared for nightmare.. crit dmg 130% with 13% crit chance...

you're definitely undergeared....

I thought barb is HP tank while monk is heal/support tank? Diff class requires diff stats la..

Added on May 26, 2012, 10:58 pmIMO, resist is everything... My previous build stacks a lot of vit and dps...as soon as i touched arcane laser.. hp dropped so fast as if i'm wearing only a piece of cloth..

I then spent a considerable low amount of gold on a new full set of armors with fire resist + OwE passive.. I can tank like no body business, I even dropped my MoH to MoC just to kill things faster... I dropped almost every healing skills and left only BoH for the damage buff..

So in short, IMO resist = everything..

Less than a hundred k for a full set.. some of them are really cheap

decided to switch back to my lv 51 monk post 1.0.3 from my DH. Still in the midst of deciding to go LoH or LPSS build.

From what I know: -

LoH = effective when you have around 2.0 aps
LPSS = effective when you have high enough spirit regen which is also ultimately tied to atk spd -.-

no la ..my question was abit misleading.. my actual question is which route to go? LoH or LPSS when I have (say) 1.7 APS....?

planning to build my monk this way when I get to lv60

- resists 600
- 1500+ dex
- 20k dps
- 20% +/- crit chance
- 200% +/- crit dmg
- 30k+ hp
- 5-6k armor (unbuffed)

prolly with near 1k LoH

with this build

Is this route viable for act 1 - 2 inferno ?

i might spend a day or two with my DH to grind NM act 3 with full GF gears... not sure if i can yield a few mil but ill have to try as I'm broke with only 300k left (mther fkin spent on DH but still under damage like a mofo + repairs)

Thanks man. If that's the case, I'll switch from fire to earth. As I'm left with only 300k gold at lv51. I can't afford neither more deaths nor better equipments...

hmm reached lv60 and in act 1 inferno with 3 of my friends...can tank but not as much with around 500+ resists all (buffed) and 5k armor (buffed) 300% crit dmg, 20% crit chance, 25k hp...

can still die very fast..seems like i need LoH to sustain better..

Guys, suffering as I can't tank as much for a group game with my friends. Die sometime in act 1 and act 2 is just impossible....below are my stats and gears, what would u guys recommend me to replace?

I would prefer DW but right now seems to be impossible unless I've got everything expensive on my armors to be able to DW

I am level60 monk in inferno act2. Only your HP is good. Everything/almost everything need to change. I think u also suffer a lot in hell and inferno act1. I seldom die in inferno act1 only when I dont pay attention but in act2 now is impossible , try until the ruins. advice is to get your resist/armor to 900/9000 coz resist 600/6000 also beh tahan. Forget abt going to act2 with your friends with your stats. Waste money repair.

Oh yeah must get at least a 1h weapon dps above 800dps. Quite cheap.

I don't have any issues on hell. Can melt through the elites and sustain with LoH, speed, crit build as I can still stand there and facetank them. Anything that I can't face tank, kills me as I can't sustain with LoH. Wah to get 900/9000, I guess my dmg would be terrible? How about 700/7000 ++ with LoH ?

You've got better resists than me. You should have no problem through act 1 unlike me..
