QUOTE(evofantasy @ Jun 12 2012, 10:38 AM) i cant help feeling u guys invested too much on vitality rather than mitigation stat... scary resist and armor. i am only at 38k hp fully buffed with earth ally's 10% but have 1.2k resist, 50+ dodge, 30+ block and 10k armor... managed to tank 2 blue, 1 gold in act2 with another barb last nite (stupid timed quest) without dying... wit mitigation, it is so much easier to heal up since heals dun really scale for monks compared to barb... i complete act 1 inferno with 21k HP. |

just to add on spending plenty of gold on 1 item...
with patch 1.0.3, it is possible (2%) to find the highest quality iLvl63 item in Inferno Act1. good news for those who has been doing Butcher run like me. that also mean, the price of best quality item will drop. stay tune... |

i think i m not a palamonk...
i have 1k fist weapon and all my skill are tune towards aggressive atk. Left click = Deadly Reach - Foresight = +18% damage Right click = Thunderclap = Mobs running away? No issue. Breath of Heaven + Blazing Wrath = +15% damage Serenity + Accession = 4 seconds God-mode Blinding flash + Faith in Light = +30% damage Mantra of Conviction + Overawe = +48% damage (i spam this) So, the longer I fight, the higher is my damage. I have Transcendence so I can spam Overawe which also heal me. My HP just 21k, it heals quite good. With some AS, I really enjoy playing with this build. Still die some times, but kill fast. |

QUOTE(evofantasy @ Jun 14 2012, 04:12 PM) agree. forced to use more defensive build in higher ACT. that's why I stop till i get better item (and patch 1.03). if my monk is not awesome, i refused to proceed. this build is super exciting because many times, even low health (left 5% HP), use Serenity, 4 seconds of free atk, build back Spirit, spam Overawe, build back HP, many times, if I dont chicken out, I can wipe Elites. just my way of playing |

QUOTE(HenryLow @ Jun 14 2012, 04:36 PM) i always lack of spirit to spam MoC for healing... atk speed will help you. if you have 2.0 and above AS, this is probably no longer a problem. i only have 150 spirit, more than enough for me.with 11k dps, 36k hp, 500+ all resis, 5.1k armor... inferno act 2 really really really... err... *excuse me, can u stop gazing me... really easy feeding chicken... |

QUOTE(noobandroid @ Jun 15 2012, 08:47 PM) it's actually a little more complicated than that. with LoH with multiple target, Bliz 'neft' down the effect using "proc coefficients". so, your last FoT hit multiple targets, but the actual Life you get reduced. Life Steal does not have this "coefficients" problem. So, in theory, Life Steal may 1 day steal more life when you hit multiple target...."it depends on what skill you're using and how many targets you're hitting. Life On Hit uses our proc coefficients and I've seen people measure out all the proc coefficients (nice work btw!). Proc coefficients, btw, are used for a lot of the On Hit Effects. For example if you ever see "X has a chance to Y on critical hit" - it's using the exact same proc coefficients as life on hit. For example, the Wizard skill Critical Mass that reduces cooldowns by 1 second. People test this and say "Oh wait, it only works with single target skills". That's not actually true. Single targets kills generally have a proc scalar of 1. Skills that hit 6x as fast (like rapid fire) have a reduced proc scalar to normalize out the proc effects. Frenzy has a 0.75 proc scalar, which affects the life on hit, but if it were a Wizard skill would also have a 75% chance to trigger Critical Mass on crits. So - back to your question. Life on hit is proc scalared down for certain skills, whereas Life Steal is not affected by the proc scalar at all. So if you Seismic Slam or Whirlwind a large number of targets, it will surpass Life On hit faster than for Frenzy. Of course on single targets Life on Hit will generally always be better. In terms of where the breakpoint is, I think what you'd want to look at is breakpoints for various DPS levels for different skills for different numbers of expected targets." source: http://www.reddit.com/r/Diablo/comments/uo...ambers_and_jay/ This post has been edited by cowithgun: Jun 15 2012, 09:01 PM |

QUOTE(Deimos Tel`Arin @ Jun 29 2012, 01:06 PM) fuiyoh why u stack resist poison (together with all resist) also? cold resist is probably the least popular... (prices are slightly lower in AH)...i thought resist poison should be the least popular among the rest. Added on June 29, 2012, 1:26 pm QUOTE(choonwai11 @ Jun 29 2012, 01:19 PM) currently dodge at 45% when dual wield. wanted to look for a better shield then will ditch my off hand weapon before going into act 2. but i like both my weapon.....710 damage fist with 80dex, 80vit, 2500 life after kill, coupled with 650 damage mace 140dex, 160vit, 500++ loh + 400 loh gem....i was like blood sucking machine when killing mobs. in act 2 have difficulties dealing with elites, so switching to shield. u may wanna drop some HP for some resist and DPS... i guess it's do-able, but your monk wont be awesome...also wanted to upgrade my others stat before going act 2, especially resist, now farming at act 1. 53k HP, 450 resist, 15k DPS, 5.5k Armor. how this sound for ACT 2? QUOTE(B@rt @ Jun 29 2012, 03:07 PM) yeah if i can get solid chest and shoulders I think i'll probably go dps amulet and rings. you can probably get the same resist and armor with less than 5mil... cannot compare to his DPS tough... Added on June 29, 2012, 3:37 pmdamn this guy spent $1000+ on his gear... http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/5978428128 |

QUOTE(LeVis_Jeans @ Jun 29 2012, 06:22 PM) Sad.. I cannot move forward after kill ghom. Dont really need LoH. Your number 1 priority is to pump up resist and DPS. 700 is OK, but 13k DPS will not cut it. 5-6m is enough to get a decent sheild with +dex,+res... just saying...I have no LoH, resist 500+ only, hp 24k, 6k amor, dps 17k 1hand/22k 2hand... If I lower down my dps and go increase my resist, example go back 13k dps with LOH and 700 resist, 7-8k amor. Can i kill an elite? Take how long it take to kill a monster? P.s : I have around 5-6m on pocket. Loh gear is super expensive |

QUOTE(anechoic @ Jul 3 2012, 08:01 PM) you may not like to see this:if ur resist low, resist more important if you dex low, dex more important ... sometimes, armor is important too. this is pretty important for monk since we can stock up high resist with OWE. best to maintain 1:10 ration for resist:armor. block % and amount blocked is bonus... |
