QUOTE(aminsa @ May 23 2012, 11:21 AM) Bro Banny888, The Msian ICS file is in tar format. You use Mobile ODin Pro to flash it in phone or you use ODin in PC to flash ithttp://leemn.wordpress.com/2012/04/21/root...cs-stunner-rom/ I followed you guide to flash ics stunner. It's ok worked fine Now I download Malaysian version ics than copy to external sd, than I tried to flash with CWM but it said something wrong with my file. Tried many times but failed to flash using zip file on sdcard. I don't know is wrong ...? |

Hi,
I am using LPY German ICS with CF-Root. After freezing some bloatware, my battery usage much better. Can last me one day with minimal usage with internet connection always ON. Always deep sleep when standby. |

If you want to restore any GB rom, you can use Abyss 3.9 instead - you will get back full root on the GB romi dare not restore my GB nandroid without flashing abyssnote 1st....any idea what could be the problem?? It looks like your recovery files are damaged that you cannot install Abyss 4.2 - I have experienced this before. What I did I install Abyss 3.89 restore back my GB rom and from there flash back my ICS rom to repair back the CWM - long and tedious way but it works |

QUOTE(Duckies @ May 23 2012, 11:38 AM) Looks like I am not the only 1 having battery life problem with this official ICS haha.Checked partial and kernel wakelocks but nothing seems wrong. As rebooto said, battery life is my main priority.I can live without S-memo stuff.Hopefully somebody will come out a good rom out of these official roms I did my full charge at 3pm yesterday and till now 12pm left 50%. I play some games, reading email, whatsapp, sms, downloading some files....Consider good or bad? |

To all those who has flash the Msian ICS roms, allow me to share my experience . This rom is no different from the official German build or Taiwanese build in terms of performance, UI slickness and smoothness. The only difference is the Msian rom comes with LP9 kernel vs LPY on German and LPF on Taiwan roms
So far we have developers working on custom roms based on both LPY and LPF. And the general consensus LPF ( Taiwan) rom seems to offer generally better performance. Sop if you wish to try any custom ICS Touchwiz based roms similar to Msian ICS - I'd highly recommend Rocket V1 and after bootup flash it with LPF kernel. Another good rom to consider is Alba v2.3 , KingDroid 1.5 and finally MidTeam 1.3. These custom roms offer much better performance and UI slickness/smoothness vs stock ICS roms If you are concerned about battery life, Rocket V1 with LPF kernel offers the best battery life, I'd say better than other ICS and GB roms I have tested This post has been edited by benny888: May 23 2012, 12:01 PM |

Extract the zip file to get the zimage file and copy this zimage file to either internal sd or ext sd. Use mobile odin to flash it as kernel ALTERNATIVELY : Boot to stock recovery manually ( volup+home+button) and flash th1s CWM.zip : copy this CWM.zip to external sdcard and in recovery select apply update from ext storage http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...730&postcount=3 option 2 is the problem for me. via stock recovery i cant access /sdcard the cwm.zip and busybox.zip including rocket v1 is all inside external memory. can see it via normal myfiles and astro file manager. but when i boot into stock recovert and try to inject it, e:failed to mount /sdcard (no such file or directory) appears. thats why i'm stuck with no root still. |
