The wonders of stabilizers eh ocz. I saw ppl charging alot for their "shaky" wedding videos. A sad sad truth.
*
I did not use any stabilizers as i can't handle it more than 5 minutes. Its damn heavy. LOL. by the way, most of my shots are using 4ft sliders and monopod.

My mistake, should use the word "support". Hehe. I saw a shaky vid of akad from a local videographer. Very unprofessional.

One question though, all of your vids seemed to be dark, is that your style?

LOL. Shaky with styles,is a bit acceptable, but shaky without styles,is totally unacceptable. most of the video i've seen, from amateur photographer are using tripod, instead of monopod.
Some of the videos are originally dark, some are edited to dark.

The one that I saw surely no style one. Hehe.

So dark is your style lah? OK. I'm thinking of getting a separate LED lights to brighten up my subjects.

Ryan Connolly from FilmRiot advises to crank up the iso abit from normal before shooting.
It might not look good on screen but its easier to edit bright vid later than to brighten up a dark vid.

After some trials, I agree with Ryan. wink.gif

Why would you buy that small stabilizers when you can buy Glidecam 2000? The price is almost the same.

Handling a stabilizer is indeed tiring eh. Need to catch up with subject's walking speed. Need to ask to slow down, which for me; beats the spontaneity already. But I dont regret getting the Hague MMC. Just need more practice.

5 hours? What type of recording? Wedding issit?

I normally stop recording every 10-15mins. But then again, I'm just doing sightseeing type of videos. Casual and free.

Video shoot at cosplay events, Controlling "effects" slowly take lots of muscle strength (even mine setup is light weighted).
Wedding (did 1 time only) / Dinner functions I don't use steadycam often using more on monopod.
Teambuilding can be a lot harder actually since I usually shoot 2 days straight full day.

20 sec max recording time (depends on situations)

Oh its your vids that amduser posted before. Nice choreograph! Cosplayers sure a nice bunch to play with.

Understood what you meant by controlling effects. Its surely is tiring. Need to bend and lift alot.

Just wondering, have you tried a market stabilizers? It will take time to balance it for first timers.
