Interesting stuff. Mine share yours first? Am thinking of using my m43 camera to record some videos (youtube etc). A very low budget starter project for myself aka new hobby.

The quality is alright. Just need to get a separate proper microfon like Zoom H1 etc.

Did this later on with a slider + stabilizer

Nice vids bro! Not much comment from me on the cinematography. Dont want to comment on the acting. LOL.

They're quite reputable for making video game-like action scenes .
Let's say i want to change from a viewing angle to another, do i call my actors to freeze and not to move till i started filming the 2nd angle?
*
Yes alot of stops/freezes. I saw similar vids where they also showed the making.

Keep it coming guys. Love all the vids. Would appreciate it if you share the setups / settings aswell so we can learn with each other.

I'm new too. I own a Lumix GF3 but its pretty much collecting dust if I'm not travelling etc. Used a Nikon D50 before.

So I'm taking this interest to utilize the camera from wasted.

Still loads to read. First purchase would be the stabilizer as its the most practical use to me. Gonna start with travel vlog etc. Then I'll pursue other genres.

Any tips for taking travel videos? biggrin.gif

The cheapest and good external mic at the moment would be the Zoom H1.

I'm planning to get the Zoom H2n which is few 100s more but still quite affordable.

Yup I heard/read that Rode is used by almost every filmmakers. But then, I'll be using my GF3, it doesnt have external jack. So I have to get a separate recorder mic. I need it to record sound aswell. wink.gif

Nice. Any more vids bro? Wondering the type of vids you're doing other than the skate park vid.

Added on May 14, 2012, 7:03 amSay guys, what video editor softwares you are using? Before I just use the Windows Live Movie Maker bundled in my Windows 7. But it doesnt have the color correction etc. I dont really need any special effects for now. Just want to smoothen and beautify the videos that I captured.

I've taken a few,but i don't know how to post videos from youtube here in the thread.
By the way, i am using the Sony Vegas Pro 10. It's editing is simple, but yet superb in effects.

I mainly covers wedding, and sometimes into ads or montage.

To post youtube vids, for example with random youtube video;

Press Youtube button then 6ILZAYa-R38 and press the Youtube button again to complete.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ILZAYa-R38
See the 6ILZAYa-R38 from the Youtube link? Put that in between the two Youtube tags.

Sony Vegas Pro 10? You bought it or ahem? LOL. It costs US$599.95. Sigh.
Just downloaded the Adobe Premiere Elements 10 trial. Havent had the time to play with it just yet.

Received my Hague Mini-Motion Cam stabilizer this afternoon. Also didnt get enough time to properly set it up.
Away from home right now. Will try the Premiere Elements and Hague MMC tomorrow morning.

travel photos - zoom lens with IS, and practice steady holding. smile.gif

anyway peeps, no need think so much about sliders and stabilizers first. even a tripod alone can work wonders if you know how to plan your video.
*
Say goldfries, I'm sure you're familiar with Lumix GF3. Its my only camera now.
I'll be doing a travel videos in the near future.

Whats the suitable zoom lens IS for GF3?
I only got the 14-42mm kitlens and 14mm prime lens. Issit OK?

And I just bought a stabilizer. So far so good.

In case you're wondering on what type of travel videos am I heading, here's the example:

Thanks!

guys , would like to ask. what is the easy software to learn and edit video..but produce.. look profesional video :-)
*
I'm no expert, just started few weeks ago. lol So need to wait for others to give their thoughts.

As for me, I'm still trying every popular software out there.
Tried Adobe Premiere Elements and Cyberlink PowerDirector; I'm liking the latter... so I just removed the Premiere Elements.

I might try Sony Vegas. Loads of Americans that I know are using it. But it doesnt fair well compared to Cyberlink etc. I wonder.
ocz is using Sony Vegas, maybe can review a bit.

In case, you want free softwares, I tried almost all from google search, didnt find anything interesting. Sigh.

I'm using Cyberlink PowerDirector 10. Loving it!

Anyway, the best is to test them yourself. Most of it give trial versions to try. But do bear in mind, trial version normally have limitations.

I almost ditch PowerDirector during trial becoz all my videos were distorted until I read in the forum about it. Since I'm comfortable using it, I went ahead to buy the full version. It was worth it!

DO test those in your list. biggrin.gif

All the Pro versions prices are "awesomely" expensive. Unless you're professionals then its ok lah. No doubt they're good for its purpose.

For beginners, its better to start with lower end versions.

Like;-
Adobe Premiere Elements -> Premiere Pro
Sony Vegas Movie Studio -> Vegas Pro
Etc...

Can try the powerful Lightworks http://www.lightworksbeta.com/
Got free and subscription based. Tried it but its just too hard for my noob head. Its for serious filmmakers lah.
