QUOTE(WiLeKiyO @ Oct 17 2012, 03:11 AM) Same here, I'm very afraid of embarrassment and shy, all my cousins do not like me Practice in front of the mirror? Rehearse your answers and organize your thoughts. When you get the opportunity to go for more interviews, you will slowly be able to speak better.

Practice, practice and practice! Do your homework and be well prepared. Practice in front of the mirror or with a friend/ family. Keep calm. Make sure all your certificates, resume etc are in place and arrive 15min earlier for the interview. Get sufficient rest the night before. If you find that you can't sleep, just push the matter aside, empty your mind and don't think about it. All the best This post has been edited by sweet_pez: Oct 17 2012, 09:00 PM

Getting Started

|
English language practitioners, educators and parents can pick up practical and simple activities that will increase student involvement at the three-day Johor English Language Seminar on Writing and Speaking in Johor Baru from Oct 29 to Oct 31.
Jointly organised by JB English Language Teaching (JELTA) and Johor State Education department, the seminar provides ELT practitioners with an avenue for sharing their knowledge and ideas on writing and speaking.
M Suites Hotel is sponsoring the venue, meals for participants and accommodation for speakers as part of its social responsibility commitment to education.
The seminar will focus on diverse issues within ELT and English as a Second Language, such as creative and innovative methodology, curricular and material design innovations, as well as critical thinking and creativity in English language teaching and learning.
Other topics that will be covered during the seminar -- to be officiated by New Straits Times (NST) managing editor Datuk Nuraina Samad -- include developing vocabulary and structural accuracy.
Former NST Johor bureau-chief Ravi Nambiar will show participants how to write a press release that is "useful, accurate and interesting", whereas NST rewrite executive A. Kathirasen, a journalist of 37 years, will give pointers on Writing Effective Letters to the Editor.
Lucille Dass, a former Universiti Sains Malaysia lecturer, will present a paper on Whither the Voice of English. This plenary paper illustrates how teachers can create purposeful and enjoyable speaking activities that allow students to "discover their lost voice in English".
Trainer Irfan Rahman, who has 20 years of experience teaching English all over the world, will deliver a workshop on Speak Your Mind, in which he shares tips for encouraging students to speak in the classroom and solving any problems that may occur in teaching non-native learners to speak.
Education Ministry's Teaching English Language and Literacy mentor and teacher trainer Maureen Parker, meanwhile, will introduce Jazz Chants, a popular method for helping students with pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary and grammar.
Parker will also demonstrate some successful ways to make the language classroom more student-centred and engaging.
Registration fee is RM130 for government school teachers and RM200 for other participants.
To register, call Rosnah Rahim at 017-790-5426 or fax 07-224-4737.

Thank to this thread, my interview goes smoothly today.
But I feel weird about my interviewers today, they keep asking me, "So do you have any question ?", "What do you want to know" ?
They just keep asking me again and again, like more than 10 times an I keep answering "no".

Let's say that job that I want to apply required me to own a car, but I dont have a car, I just have a car license. So, if the interviewer are convinced with my skills but very worried about me not having a car, how should I answer it? I've been through this question before and I answered them I'll buy a car IF they offer me the job. Somehow, they're not convinced at all. How should I really answer this kind of questions in the future?

They just keep asking me again and again, like more than 10 times an I keep answering "no". That question is usually to give you an opportunity for you to ask questions about the position, the company, and anything else related to the firm. It depends on your answer, if it is just a straight "no" then it does leave a lack of interest view for the applicant.

Hi may I ask if interviewers ask 'do you hv any professional qualification?'and I am currently pursuing my CIMA. Should I say it? I am afraid employers will see it as a burden since the jobs require to work long hours. STudy paper makes u to divide time to study and work.
thanks

A young guy (my assumption) and smart working in accounting line with no aspiration to take the professional body exam. What you think of him? Contrast it with a guy who is taking the exam, who will you hire?
