you can always try and get feedback instead of just waiting for them. I guess following up would be a good idea smile.gif

hi guys,
i've one question here, can I ask the person who had called me for the interview the basic salary for the vacancy?

You're not advised to do so. However,i think you could do so if you're offered a position.

Hi,

Would like to ask a few question. Says the interviewers need a copy of transcript/degree which I don't have it yet, since I just finished my study, and convocation is still a month away, is it suffice to show them my latest examination result?

And when they say certificate, up to which level of cert should I bring, I mean all cert since primary school or just at university level?

Thanks

Hi,

I would like to ask if it is appropriate for me to email a thank you letter to the HR dept after the interview rather than emailing it to the interviewer? Because i only have the HR dept's email address. I was not provided the interviewer's email address.

1. Yes you may show your exam results but not just the latest one. You should show all your results, or at least bring a copy and show them when they ask for it. By only bringing the latest exam result may only show your scores for the last semester. Unless your exam result also accumulate/ show your previous semesters result on it.

2. My advice is to just bring all, even primary. During the interview you can tell them that you're active in abc during secondary and primary school, and that if they are interested, you have the certs with you. If they ask for it, then show it to them. Btw i would presume that you are a fresh graduate based on your earlier question.

When you have worked, a lot of employers would not be interested to see your achievement in primary school (but your PMR/ SPM result will still be relevant).

Did the HR person attend the meeting as well?

Anyway you can, but in your thank you note also mention that you would like to thank so-and-so (interviewer) as well but you did not have his/ her email.

Oh no, this is a terrible mistake to make. When you go for interview, make sure that ALL documents are complete and your resume updated.

The interview will proceed but the interviewers will certainly not be happy. Look at it this way: if you can't even remember to do the basic of bringing your resume and certs, how can they trust you with the job?

My recommendation - it would have been better to call earlier and reschedule the interview to another later time (eg. 1 hour later to go home and grab the certs) due to an 'unforeseen emergency'.

Depending on the position, some companies take longer because they'll need to get management input first after the first interview.

Send an email to the HR and check what is the status of your application. Tell him/ her you'd like to enquire for the update on your interview status. All the best.

thanks for the input, already going through all three interview in 2 days, just bring in whatever i have since they call me for interview on such short notice.

yeah sort of fresh grad at that time, still meddling with final exam when to prepare with the interview. all advise given on this thread is useful I would say, only I got a point to add. one of the interview I attend specified if I can't attend the interview, they can arrange for skype interview.

well, since I'm going for another 2 more interview, I just say that I will go to their office. apparently the interviewer says it is a good decision as it shows that I'm determined to get the job. so my advise is, whenever you can go to the interview yourself, never resort to the easier way (skype, etc etc). the rest is pretty much covered here.

Hi Fatin, "walk-in interview" means you can just go in for the interview any time between 10am-4pm.
