Mentoring is a word that is seldom practised. What have one to gain when she mentors another person? In most cases nothing. It is just an instruction fromt he top that comes without additional benefit. Therefore mentoring is seldom practise.

Without the first step in your chain (mentor) your entire progression breaks down. I would substitute it for knowledge. It does not matter how you get it (learn form mistake or reading).

See picture attached. Either use matching skirt or dress pants. If freshie and do not have the budget for such attire, wear a blouse and skirt (like school uniform for prefects).

Words of wisdom - Never love your company for that love is only a 1 way street. Speaking for many  years of experience , to stay happy while working - love your job, not your  company.

This philosophy dont work in Japan. They have way to make you love the company above yourself tongue.gif

I think this apply to me ......i hate my job i hate my boss i tried so hard not to quit but the confirmation letter force me to throw in my resignation as i do not wish to be bind to the company for another 6 months doing something i don't like.

But now i am jobless ..... i am preparing for question like "Why do you quit before you got another job?" for my future interview
*
There is no model answer to "why leave your previous job". Why look for perfection when there isnt? In such situation, the truth is the best. Try to avoid "sour grape" type of answer. Jethrel had given some samples of these type of answer.

What may seem like a good answer may backfire. Helping out in famly business sound nobel but it cant stand further probe. "If we hire you, how can we ensure that you will not say 3 or 5 years form now that you had quit to help your family again?"

Not bringing the resume is not a big deal. They already have a copy. Furthermore, they make you fill a form that request the same info.

Help desk need to have good product knowledge. That is why the interviewer spend so much time on it. She just want you to know what you are getting yourself into since she thought you will not fit base on your previous job.

Once you said the salary is okay, dont negotiate further. Have you heard if "beri betis nak peha"?

If the job requires you to meet people then spoken english is a plus point. Otherwise your confidence and ability to carry your message across will do.

Shaking hand is a big question mark. Some people say it is a must. I will only shake hand when they extend their hand out.

I think knowing how many interviewers will be present is irrelavant. The key is to maintain your clam and have a clear mind regardless of one or many interviewers.

Some of the questions they ask includes:
-pay
-is training provided
-timing
-location
-benefits

There is pros and cons to your question. When I was doing HR, I hate candidates to ask questions (especially the ones you mentioned above) before the interview. If they want to ask so much, I might as well interview them over the phone. Once I shortlist someone, they had impressed me from what is in their resume. What remain if for me to access their attitude in which looking at their body language alone when they resposnse to the question "myself" will suffice. I usually hang up on them after the second question.

I think he means they keep digging his family history. In which the word should be "probe" not "provoke"

It looks like he just wanted to complain, Tommy.

Dont worry Alpha_mid. As long as you have been honest with them your conscience is clear. At least you can be more prepared for this topic in future.

Yes, never let your guard down and always be prepard. It is good to be ready with a brief description of your family background. If they need to ask more then be prepared to tell them a long story. Before you tell them a long story tell them that the question is not relevant if they really want to know you can tell them a long story. Then ask them if there is anything specific that they want to know.

Honesty, that is the perfect way. Would you believe a person without weakness? When you speak of your weakness tell them what have you done to overcome it.

Your previous employer will know smile.gif Now you can make it a point to ask your employer the moment you resign.

For now perhaps you should ask your firends. Your mother is the best person to ask, actually.

As i know a light make up is advisable for girls during interview process....

any say on this?
*
Wearing make up is part of good grroming. In Rome do as the Romans do. I will not wear make up for this interview.

so in my resume if i dont to reveal my current salary is okay...? i'm afraid by not doing so they don wanna to hire me.. or may be they'll think i'm poyo..
*
If you had stated salary of previous employemt they can figure the last salary out. You can totally omit salary in your resume but the will ask you eventually (either verbally or through their application form).

always in any interview they will ask me to bring the payslip or tell them my current salary... but i dont wanna to actually... i want  a high pay base on my experience not base on my last salary....

You have to learn negotiation skill or forever be stuck with this problem.

Hi

I'm currently employed, and there is this company that i want to work with. So I applied for the position trainee. Training for 4month and OJT for 6month. Purpose of the training if of course, give skills to the unemployed. A week later, they told me that I was shortlisted. I ask them, when can get my offer letter, because I want to hand my resignation. She seems to be shocked and ask me not to resign until I get my offer letter. Does the fact that I'm currently employed reduces the chances of me going to the training?
Just now she called me saying that her manager wanted to see me next week.
I'm puzzled . I humbly seek advice.
*
Maybe they want to interview you again before making an offer to you.

hey both pretty, thanks for the reply..thoguh its bit late..anywhere, i brought my blazer together, but didn't wear it, as those candidates are not wearing it..

and normally, its not so overkill for a female to wear blazer actually, even its just a executive position, but for man, if its not really a high post..it just seem too much to wear it in malaysia..haha.
*
Agree. Men wearing blazer are those who had a white supremacy mentality.

i mean.. what kind of excuse can i use this time? telling them the truth won't make it good..

There is nothing wrong with telling the truth. At least they know they are facing some competition for the candidate the selected.
