We do not have any songs with THAT name in them nor will you be able to buy any official merchandice using that term, it is not printed on any scarves or badges, also I was at the Reading game and there is no way did that song ring out around the ground. Now I have been a "United" supporter all my life I am 44 and have never used that phrase to describe the name of my team. It even has annoyed me to write about the song with the name in it, but thought I had to just to get my point over to people who have never heard it (real United fans forgive me please ) You don�t use the phrase Man C Leeds U Aston V etc etc So dont use M . Like the song goes Theres Only One United so people will know who you support when using this term..All said whenever someone calls us M* * I simply correct them.. I would rather have seen them smash 10 past QPR tbh. But then, good fight. we went all the way. for a club in the process of finding ourselves, losing out on GD isn't that bad. Besides, 89 points is a massive haul, enuff to run away with the title in most seasons. Well done, City, but the switch in power in Manchester is not yet complete. Can't wait for the new season.

Last 5 minutes put more prove that they have stronger mentality this season than before, fight back from 8 points behind us to fight back to turn the result against QPR. This is exactly not the worst United team. They fought for 89 points, which is incredible, with some youngsters just came in this season, with cruel injuries, with mental setback suffered from UCL and Europa League exit. The lads deserve some credits even though they didn't win any trophies. They will come back stronger. I bet they've learned many valuable experiences this season which will be really helpful for them to grow as a footballer. Well, I wish Giggsy and Scholesy will stay at the team until next season to help out the youngsters, of course not as in playing week in week out. Well, make your peace with this loss and move on. They did great comeback at the second half of the season with great help by Scholesy, but slipped later at very last of the season. Hope the lads won't suffer major injury during Euro. Glory Glory Manchester United.

Honestly United didn't deserve to win the title because they lack of decisive mentality to kill off games and score more goals. Playing if-games, if we were defeated 1-2 instead of 1-6 against City at home, both of Manchester teams will have exactly same stats at the table Play 38, Win 28, Draw 5, Lose 5, Goal 89, Conceded 29 One of the best season I've ever experienced, even though didn't turn out to have good ending.

Getting Started Junior Member 237 posts Joined: Jul 2010	good league campaign.. normally 89pts will win us the title.. 1-6 thrashing are the different, but i'll always remember the 4-4 draw.. City raising the bar and they deserved the title. they'll getting stronger if they retain Mancini, team harmony, and get rid trouble magneto (Balotelli).. a couple of good signing will make them more equip to defend their title. poor campaign overall, by our high standard.. we need at least a couple of top CM's, and one more forward, basically to replace Scholes, Giggs and Berbatov. Berbatov, Owen will be gone and probably Pogba too.. Anderson, Cleverley and Fletcher's fitness are always a question marks. our defense will better with fit-again Vidic, with DDG, Smalling, Jones, Evans, the twin will be one year maturer.. the players did their best, but thats not good enough.. we will be bounce. Glory Glory Man Utd..

You could notice certain players were out of steam towards the end at Sunderland, but still held on to the lead nevertheless. Spending only less than 20mil in a season with this achievement is quite remarkable.... Congrats to the Citizen and credit to them.... the competition is getting more and more competitive now... imagine if City is still the old City.... the title could have been won long ago..... can't depends on Chelsea who squad is old.... can't depends on stingy Arsenal who trophy cabinet remains unused for last 7 years.... not too mention flop king kenny squad who spent more than 100mil and finished a laughable 8th...

Anderson wasnt really clicked with other CMs, unless we play 3 CMs. brutally honest, ive got no hope for them (Anderson and Cleverley) to be our backbone for us next season.. they are still young though, time are on their side. some top CM /CAM like Xavi, Lampard, Senna etc bloomed late..

Currently we have Rooney, Welbeck and Hernandez....plus Macheda. So i think will be enough as for wingers, we have Nani, Valencia and Young to play with.. rumours that SAF in the market for another winger, so that's complete even without new signing as Park (if he still with us) can be as cover. for CM, Fletcher return date not confirmed, Anderson fitness always in stake, Cleverley hopefully can fit. Cannot always depends on aging Scholes and Giggs cuz they are not stay there long. This left Carrick the only fit...so CM is the big problems need to solve. as for centre back...we have Jones, Smalling, Vidic, Rio and Evans...looking at that numbers are really enough for full back...Fabio loan out full season, left only Evra and Rafael although we know that Jones and Smalling sometimes can play as RB but I prefer them to play at centre instead of rotating them as CB and RB. LB need a good player to challenge Evra cuz this season I saw a bit of declining form from Evra.

Both started badly but I chose De Gea as he bounce back after being written off by medias and even from United fans. For senior, it will be Carrick. United are in mess without Carrick. He is the stability on the midfield. Rooney also on his best form again but I'm more leaning toward Carrick. The young squad and new blood in this season will grow up next season. I wished more and more including media buying the hype power shift in manchester. Maybe, it is really a time to sign another "continental" player. someone who can compliment with Carrick in the midfield (ala Scholes) or who can replace him without disrupting United flow. Ando-Cleverley early this season shows something refreshing in the midfield. But injury hampering this dynamic duo

Like most United fans, I travelled to the Stadium of Light not expecting any twist in the title race but still, as always, just delighted at the prospect of seeing the Reds play. I made my mind up beforehand to enjoy the match regardless and it's impossible not to when you're seeing Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes still parading their talents well into their late 30s. A couple of moments from Giggs in the build-up to a miss by Wayne Rooney in the first half were sublime, giving his markers the eyes before passing in the opposite direction and then taking the ball out of the air to caress it with the guile of a ballerina in a short spell that summed up his enduring genius. The fact that my phone was not working on Wearside, presumably as everybody tried to access the data networks, meant I was in the dark with developments back in Manchester. The home fans cheered Pablo Zabaleta's goal and the scoreboard displayed the half-time scores from around the country. And then word went around that Joey Barton had been sent off against his former club. Game over. City would win comfortably from this point and it would be folly to think otherwise. Yet Mark Hughes' QPR did the impossible. The away end erupted twice but still it was difficult to imagine City would not prevail. I'd presumed the Blues would have levelled before then - there was no great reason for Sunderland's supporters to be so vocal about that - and it at least meant there was a real chance of glory. That was because Djibril Cisse's effort seemed to come so early into the second half that the City game appeared to have restarted earlier than our match. So, when the final whistle shrilled soon afterwards, the Etihad fixture would surely be finished too? Of course, the whole furore surrounding Barton meant otherwise and there was a surreal period when we were all in suspended animation. Normally, thanks to modern technology, I can track everything going on in the football world. Of course, it's my job to do so and I do more than just watch and scrutinise every kick made by United (at every level I can). I follow all the rumours, whispers, reports, rumours and downright lies on the transfer front to keep The Gossip up to date on the site. I enjoy reading fans' thoughts on messageboards and Twitter and all the discourse that surrounds our great club. United envelope my every waking hour and, judging by this morning, my sleeping ones too. Now, with a 20th title up for grabs, I was stood staring and waiting for crucial information. To be honest, I'd never believed it would be a day of jubilation. But I saw a couple of Reds jumping up and down wildly, clearly celebrating a minute or so after the end of the game. Did they know something I didn't know? Was it all over in Manchester? Finally, I allowed the emotion to shoot through my body. The rest of the away end will follow suit any second and the most unlikely, the sweetest of league successes is ours. That feeling lasted less than a minute. Instead of the United fans rejoicing, it was the home supporters on either side of them. City had scored. Heartbreaking. This wasn't a rollercoaster of emotions. It was the Big Dipper. Yet the pain still subsided quite quickly. Sir Alex appeared to instruct the players to salute the fans and there was dignity from all concerned with Manchester United. The Sunderland contingent close to the away end decided to indulge in a 'Poznan' celebration to mock those who had travelled and been fortunate to get a ticket considering the meagre allocation available. It was to be expected - Swansea's supporters heartily cheered City's strikes at Newcastle before kick-off at Old Trafford last week and even chanted Roberto Mancini's name. The same Mancini who derided both Sunderland and Swansea's chances, writing them off as cannon-fodder and 'easy' opponents for United in the final two games. I may be wrong but there appeared to be no furious response from the Reds, no major strop at having glory cruelly snatched away at the last moment and being tormented and teased. Just stunned disbelief. In fact, leaving the ground there were still chants of defiance and pride at supporting Manchester United. And that became the overriding feeling: pride. This was not the time for tears or recrimination. Manchester City won both derbies and the table does not lie. They deserved to win the title even though, after finally forcing myself to watch the Match of the Day highlights, it seemed clear to me QPR's resistance crumbled when they appeared to realise they were safe regardless of the outcome. The whole league campaign may have been different, it would certainly have felt different, if the matches restarted for the second half in another order. Nevertheless, this United side secured 89 points despite the well-documented injuries. City were only able to beat us on goal difference with two injury-time goals in the most dramatic of finales. Seeing Scholes and Giggs out on the pitch, the red they bleed is Manchester United. They love the club, just as we all do. There are plenty of others too who know what it means to represent the world's greatest football team and the best news any fan can have is that Sir Alex is already geared up for the challenge posed by City's threat of dominance. Yaya Toure was talking of conquering the world with the Blues before a first title was sealed.
