QUOTE(dundermifflin @ May 14 2012, 08:21 AM)
good league campaign.. normally 89pts will win us the title.. 1-6 thrashing are the different, but i'll always remember the 4-4 draw..

City raising the bar and they deserved the title. they'll getting stronger if they retain Mancini, team harmony, and get rid trouble magneto (Balotelli).. a couple of good signing will make them more equip to defend their title.

poor campaign overall, by our high standard.. we need at least a couple of top CM's, and one more forward, basically to replace Scholes, Giggs and Berbatov. Berbatov, Owen will be gone and probably Pogba too.. Anderson, Cleverley and Fletcher's fitness are always a question marks. our defense will better with fit-again Vidic, with DDG, Smalling, Jones, Evans, the twin will be one year maturer..

the players did their best, but thats not good enough.. we will be bounce. Glory Glory Man Utd..
*
Ya, MU still not good enough. MU lost to ManC twice, 1-6 and 0-1 in 2012 season.
Time for SAF to buy new players while maturing the current "babes".

What a season? QPR almost help us,lolz i guess money does buy you goals. I hope next season we can keep up with them. I am hoping for a good news from SAF,we need new blood,Kagawa looks interesting. I love to see him at OT. We fend off Chelsea why not MC? Our team can do it.
*
MU can also help QPR by loaning them some of the younger players. drool.gif

QUOTE(ah_khoo @ May 14 2012, 10:05 AM)
something comes to mind when we are discussin about injuries > our squad depth. yeah, we can't really buy world class players to be on d bench & get d call only when our 1st 11 players injured, but losin Fletcher for d whole season, while missin anderson & cleverley on & off doesn't really help. thank goodness Carrick stayed fit for most of d season, imagine if we need to depend solely on Scholes to marshal our CM week in & week out...  sweat.gif

also, i noticed that we are lacked of sense of urgency this season, sometimes we tend to sit back & relax when havin a small lead. when Rooney is not on song & frustrated, there is no one stand out & lead d team. we need a game winner pretty badly imo. sad.gif
*
Yes, I agree. Somebody in the mould of Keano who motivate the other players and having a never-say-die attitude. Or some one in the mould of Cantonna, unpredictable but fit like a glove in the team order where everyone respect him for his contribution.

QUOTE(dlct87 @ May 14 2012, 02:56 PM)
so the season is over, who's your Player of the Year for United this season?

for me:
1. Carrick
2. Rooney
3. Ferdinand

for Youth (23 and below):
1. Welbeck
2. Evans
3. DDG
*
For me, it is:
1. Carrick
2. Rooney
3. Valencia

for Youth (23 and below):
1. Evans
2. De Gea
3. Welbeck

Surprisingly, Chicarito did not played prominently as compared with last season.

I do think that united's squad is good enough, we lost the title through goal difference, winning the same points as City. We did that with a secondary back four that is constantly changing.
*
Agreed to the last sentence.
MU back four was constantly changing due to injuries to players. But still did good compared with the other teams (except ManC)

QUOTE(beck_ken @ May 17 2012, 09:49 PM)
And his hattrick at CL also very memorable!

He got it all in his career. The final piece of silverware, which is the league champion also got it!

Thanks Michael.

Whose our next no.7? Kagawa 7? Hehehe
*
Yes, M Owen is a nice bloke indeed. Good bye to him and he had a good run albeit short one due to to injuries.
His brace against Leeds and final goal against MCity will never be forgotten in MU's history.

The very Best of luck in your future endeavours, M Owen.

Ole the Baby Assassin is favorite for Aston Villa hot seat! Look like EPL going to be flooded with managers coming from Man Utd as a player.
*
ManU has Steve Bruce, Roy Keane, Ole G Soskjaer, G Neville (as assistant to England team), Mark Hughes from former players to coaching/managerial position. Did I miss anyone?

QUOTE(hfadzl1 @ May 18 2012, 05:09 PM)
Is Luka Modric that good? Will he make an impact to united?
*
I believe Modric is to replace BErbatov and Kagawa for Owen.
So ManU has deep cover for the striker position with Rooney (can also play midfield), Chicarito, Welbeck, Kagawa & Modric.

England play like Blackburn... parking bus in front of goal post. They really lack the creative but just brutally forcing their way up front. Boring match. They are lacking player that pull the string and keep procession. Instead, they just putting in long ball thru Gerrard.
*
Ya, play like Chelsea vs Barca and BM.
Agreed with pisces88's comment that England playing not to lose. So a 1 point is good.

QUOTE(roti-terbakar @ Jun 13 2012, 11:53 PM)
we bought 2 new midfielder.. one very young player and another is ready made and wanted to involve in every match. with scholes, cleverley, carrick and giggsy + park ji sung.. this sounds like bye-bye ando.. eventho i really like this guy sad.gif
*
It's either Ando or Park to go, IMO.
After Kagawa & Powell signing, I think the midfield is strengthen. No worries in the strikers position - Roo, Welbeck, Macheda etc. Only area need to strengthen is LB and 1 CM slot.

Forget abt the past, just get Modric. If cannot get Modric, get Nuri Sahin from Real Madrid (he is very good before he join R. Madrid and warm the bench).
*
Agreed that Nuri Sahin is one player that can contribute to United cause.
In RM, he only warm the bench, waste of his talent, I think.

someone is butthurt in england thread blaming MU player for the loss. like there is just only 3 of them played in the team last night  sweat.gif

Ya lor.
Before the Euro campaign, some one mentioned that it is represented by majority Reds player.
After the Englund flop, some one put the blame on the Red Devils' players. WTH? cool2.gif
