well, as the saying goes: Once in a Blue moon, so enjoy the title (I doubt how many of the "visitors" tonight are truly City fans) while you can, United will be battling to take it back next season

QUOTE(viNcee @ May 14 2012, 12:24 AM) My thoughts exactly. I dared to dream and believe towards the 90th minute. It felt so possible. Then it got snatched away just like that in a matter of minutes. we did that to a lots of team in the past, this time we taste our own medicine, so yeah, now we all know how they felt lolFootball, bloody hell. |

QUOTE(cekutz @ May 14 2012, 10:32 AM) I do think that united's squad is good enough, we lost the title through goal difference, winning the same points as City. We did that with a secondary back four that is constantly changing. the squad is decent enough (except the unfortunate injury crisis), but there's area that do need strengthening in order for the team to challenge those top dog |

QUOTE(legendofhafiz @ May 14 2012, 10:55 AM) Vida already missed pre season. so I hope he can make it before the kick off. I hope Anderson will be lucky next season. It's about time for him to have full season without long term injury alright, so here's my assessment:Clyne transfer seems imminent. Berba most likely leaving. No words about Owen. I think we just short a couple signings to return to the best GK: sorted LB: Evra clearly needs someone to challenge the spot (Clyne perhaps?) CB: with Evans, Smalling, Rio, Vidic, and Jones, we're good to go RB: Rafael should get the nod and make this position his winger: Valencia, Nani, Young, Giggs (Park i think he will leave) midfield: on paper Carrick, Fletcher, Anderson, Cleverley and Scholes are decent pool of players, bu 3 out of 5 are "doubtful" at best with their injury record, so we have to stop gambling at that, especially Fletcher... striker: with Berba, and possibly Macheda and Owen leaving, this part is thinning out, so 1 more backup striker should be fine all in all, we will finally have to address the problem at the midfield this summer, and we should really really aim to NOT be so dependent on Giggs and Scholes anymore |

QUOTE(beck_ken @ May 14 2012, 01:19 PM) Berbatov is leaving...Owen may be, so this lead 2 slots for backup strikers. Currently we have Rooney, Welbeck and Hernandez....plus Macheda. So i think will be enough we need at least:as for wingers, we have Nani, Valencia and Young to play with.. rumours that SAF in the market for another winger, so that's complete even without new signing as Park (if he still with us) can be as cover. for CM, Fletcher return date not confirmed, Anderson fitness always in stake, Cleverley hopefully can fit. Cannot always depends on aging Scholes and Giggs cuz they are not stay there long. This left Carrick the only fit...so CM is the big problems need to solve. as for centre back...we have Jones, Smalling, Vidic, Rio and Evans...looking at that numbers are really enough for full back...Fabio loan out full season, left only Evra and Rafael although we know that Jones and Smalling sometimes can play as RB but I prefer them to play at centre instead of rotating them as CB and RB. LB need a good player to challenge Evra cuz this season I saw a bit of declining form from Evra. compulsory: 1 backup LB, 1-2 center midfield optional: 1 winger, 1 striker its not the time to talk about value anymore i reckon (for this coming transfer period), City no doubt will keep on chucking money around again, and that's funny, other teams SHOULD be worry about City coz they can't compete with them on the market, while they have to be scared that City will come and raid their squad...just ask Arsenal fans, they are the only few who didn't troll this thread (i think?) |

QUOTE(beck_ken @ May 14 2012, 01:33 PM) Yup. with the status of "League Champion", they will spends millions again for the team (as per Mancini, they are still "not good enough")....I know they will be another title challenge team next season. the big difference between City's big spending and our so called big spending isThey will of cos raid all the available good players in the market. I think they will bid whichever players other teams are bidding. They will splash the money for fun. FA Cup last season, this season League champ, I reckon the boss want CL next season (like how Abramovich wet dream about). as for the bold part, i reckon another backup RB (natural RB, not make shift RB) they can afford to spend 40M on 1 player, pay him 150k weekly wage, and if he fails to deliver, they can just let him rot in the reserve, while they continue to chuck ANOTHER 40M to another player until they find the right mix, WE CAN'T DO THAT Clyne had played both LB and RB for his current club, so he will be enough for cover i think |

for me: 1. Carrick 2. Rooney 3. Ferdinand for Youth (23 and below): 1. Welbeck 2. Evans 3. DDG |

QUOTE(roti-terbakar @ May 15 2012, 12:08 AM) That 'old man''s squad catch up with City's million dollars squad, while other "new idea" (AvB, KK, AW) failed to do so, not even in top 3.. so point invalid. so lets see, if last season's United was disgrace, then this season's City is no better than that team:oh btw, New Idea by Mancini also lost twice to Man Utd. both won the PL, but United reached CL final while City failed to even qualify for the knockout stage....so should Mancini "retire" too? |
