Just back from my Langkawi Trip
Arrived on 22nd May 10.30pm .. to 25th May 12pm Rented Vios at RM300 total.. Basically you'll need a car in order to fully enjoy langkawi Places to try Teo Seafood - Good but compare to KL cook for me is very typical Chinese restaurant stuff Restoran Chark Fing Bak Kut Teh 佬食旺 - Good Bak Kut Teh Jom Ikan Bakar - A must try Ikan Bakar.... Siakap @ RM30/fish, Sotong Bakar @ RM3/PC, then some mix rice where you can add on. - One of the greats GM Burger @ Kuah Town - Nice burger, got burger bakar. Price is fair. RM4 Burger Ayam Special, Burger Bakar @ RM7/pcs but added French Fries too. These locations can be found in FourSquare... If don't have, please help Create 1 and make sure it refreshed to exact locations before you save so people won't be directed to wrong location. Best if you have a Data Plan and use FourSquare and Waze to find. Be sure to leave comments and help others... I relied on FourSquare a lot Last but not least, never eat the Prawn Mee in langkawi.. I tried both 2 shops around Kuah town and trust me, it sucks big time!!! You can try your luck though... I tried mine and it failed twice. |

those thinking to stay at malibest better be prepared for possibly yucky bathroom
i stayed there 1 week ago in one of the family room (brick) and the bathroom was in bad shape - the shower head had no holder, the door was rotting away due to dampness, the ventilation window was grimy |

I'm not recommend friends and family to stay at Fave Hotel because:
1) The floor of the room is terrible, roughness and dusty. 2) Ridiculous soundproofing. Heard uh-ah come from my neighbour, heard aunty uncle bing bang the door and chit chat very loudly. 3) breakfast is acceptable but the dish is almost the same everyday. 4) I changed a room because of aircond not cold, then the new room having drainage problem in toilet. Sorry.. no 2nd stay at Fave for me. |

QUOTE(LazyChildren @ Jun 2 2013, 09:55 PM) Hi guys.. Of your 3 options - I'd probably bet on Fave over Best Star. Won't consider Kuah as it's town - not a beach. Have stayed in Casa Fina in Cenang, which was excellent (10 minute walk down to busier part of Cenang). Also within budget. I going Langkawi coming mid-July.. Currently looking for hotelZzzz... below are my options: 1) Bayview 2) Favehotel 3) Best Star Which one better? or any other hotel to recommend?? Budget up to around RM200. Other than that, about car renting service. What the average price?? <rm100 can get what kind of car? my trip 4 days 3 night.. normally how much you spent for only car?? Car rental - In November 2011 I got an automatic persona for RM90 for 24 hours. Had asked around earlier, Vivas should go for around 70-80. That should give you a gauge, though still depends on negotiating skill. Take note on self drive permits and insurance for rental cars. Read this blog for bit of info http://goo.gl/1mTgs. A day or 2 with a car exploring the other parts and beaches of Langkawi should be more than enough. Rest of the time spend lazing away relaxing on Cenang. |
