Used absinthe for 5.0.1 JB for 4s and no problem here. Did a few time just waiting for new 5.1 or whenever my moods come

If you delete your apps, you may lose a lot of the apps data so I would not recommend it.

i encounter Chinese keyboard crash on my 3gs so upgraded to 5.1 & hope it has fix it but i was wrong. how to downgrade it back to 4.3.3 i got shsh save with tinyumbrella?

What carrier is it? Softbank?

Bingner has updated the SAM,

now u only need to set it to Auto Detect,

go to More Info and click Spoof Real SIM to SAM

activate in iTunes

Disable SAM

activate it again in iTunes

Done

chinese keyboard crash normally happen if u use Snowbreeze and choose simple mode, or u accidently delete it when u delete the language pack

make another custom CFW using Snowbreeze and choose baseband preservation mode,

if u are factory unlocked, just use stock 5.1 and jailbreak using Redsnow 0.9.10b6b

don't restore from backup (this will bring back the crash), set it as new phone.. will fix the thing

just fix another 3Gs with same problem last week..

Yes, it will be a tethered jailbreak though and if you need to hacktivate, probably better to use sn0wbreeze as the expert mode will hacktivate the phone which will allow you to go pass the activation screen.

Then you can do SAM. But you can also do SAM by jailbreaking (tethered) on 4.3.5 as well.

Your 4s on 5.0.1 can JAILBROKEN using Absinthe or Redsn0w 0.9.10b8

When u jailbreak it will hacktivate the phone

after u can pass the lockscreen, download SAM from Cydia and unlock + activate genuinely using it,

Using Absinthe stuck on `waiting fo device`. 30 minute and nothing happen. When using redsn0w required active first and erro code 1400. I thinks 4s different. So now im still stuck on activation mode.

Are you using a locked set?

Using absinthe on an existing 5.0.1 is known to take time. Most people do a fresh restore before running absinthe but since Apple no longer signs 5.0.1 you cannot use this option. If your backup file is huge, then most likely this is the reason while it takes a while for absinthe to jailbreak your 4s because the exploit uses the backup file ....

redsn0w is known to not being able to do activation easily for locked sets. I am not sure if sn0wbreeze works with 4s but there's no harm in trying. One thing for sure, you cannot use custom firmware via sn0wbreeze because the limera1n exploit doesn't work with A5 chip

There's a way..., u still need to fully restore the phone though

go to setting - reset - reset all setting

this will bring your phone to factory setting without any app installed in it...

u can run Absinthe without problem after this...

this is the way to restore to 5.0.1 without blobs, but only available if your phone haven't jailbroken yet...
