had you tried this method

1) Connect your phone with itunes using usb cable (please make sure in itunes you already login and authorised the pc)

2) Hold power button and home button and in the same time count 10 seconds and release power button and another 10 seconds power button or hold both button until heard beep sound and wallahhh apple logo appear at your phone screen

i try pressing both the power + home button. i press it until the apple logo appear on the phone screen. then i release both buttons. after that the pictures of connect iphone to computer come out. i try this without connecting to itunes.

whenever i connect to itunes it will shows itunes detect an iphone in recovery mode.u must restore this phone before it can be use

Help please Error on restoring "This device isn’t eligible for the requested build error". Sorry if this already been discuss here.

I'm current using 5.1.1, just want to restore my phone due to some issue and i have download all the 5.1.1 firmware, updated itune and change the host but still receive this error message.

ios6 untethered for ip4 out ?

what phone you're using? u cannot restore to 5.1.1 now. apple is signing only 6.0.1 for all iDevices. unless you jailbroken before and saved 5.1.1 SHSH blobs, it'll do. other than that, your are out of luck

got a question of Jailbreaking.

when i first got my iphone 4..i jailbreak it on the first day..ios 4.2.1.....
it had been 1 year over...and with a mere ios 4.2.1 i cant support a lot of new apps...so i was planning to jailbreak to the latest version of ios...i guessing is 5 atm...
i was wondering..do i need to self upgrade to ios 6 via itunes first ...or just bring to the shop and do?

ps:i have games which i spend a lot of time playing....i heard once u upgrade your ios...all jailbreak games will be gone.....right...for example like infinity blade 2...how can i keep it...the save data~

im in the same situation as u before. i fail to jb from 4.2.1 to 5.1.1 coz due to apple dunno what signing thing. now running 6.01 no jb.
make sure u save SHSH blobs for 5.1.1 if u want to jb to 5.1.1

1. save your data via backup to itunes
2. if u update to iOS 6, u will be unable to JB cos the JB not out yet. (tethered is out though)
3. did u open cydia regularly? try open cydia, and see on top part of the screen, if there are lists of SHSH blobs saved. u'd see something like 4.2, 4.3.1, 4.3.3, 4.3.5, 5.0 etc etc
4. if yes, then u are able to update to ver5.X; first u need up to ios6, then down to 5.1.1.

just lemme know once u done steps 1 to 3. step 4 is quite a hassle, though not impossible. pls DON'T perform any iOS update yet

yes i do see the 5.0.1/5.1/5.1.1/5.1.1r1./6.0.1 n so on in cydia....so....whats the steps?...i upgrade myself via itunes? to 6?...but how to downgrade to 5 later?...will my jailbreak program(cydia/installous) still be around once i update?

u may wanna back up your cydia tweaks. just search on cydia and install APT backup. once installed. just open it and tap back up. after u done jb, install bak this app, and restore from back up. it will automatically install back all your cydia tweaks

ok now for the upgrade and downgrade process:

1. check your model build, the last 2 letters do they end in LL or MY. if ur set is malaysian set, it shud be MY. else, or even refurbished unit (i.e. u claimed for 1:1 exchange before) it'll be LL

there's a difference in the steps if your build is LL (in my case), u need to create a custom IPSW to preserve Baseband. after u create this custom-preserveBB ipsw, u follow the steps to stitch it with your SHSH blobs. follow the rest of step and u shud find yourself on 5.X again. then JB it

but make sure u read first ok? it took me many trials and errors and was very frustration, i don't think any other ppl wanna experience it.

Hey guys,

I've just jailbroken my wifes 3Gs but cano get maxis line. This is a phone that was bought from maxis many years ago.

Here are the steps I took

Itunes upgraded to 6.01
Used redsnow 9.15b3
Using 6.0 firmware

Followed the steps, phone rebooted and I see cydia there. Just no maxis line. I've got no idea what all this HSS or blobs are and the more I read about what is going here the more I get confused.

Any help please ?
