Btw, you don't have any record of what oil they used? You didn't get a choice of the oil you wanted to use when you were setting up the service stuff?
*
Oil rating not in the service sheet i think

QUOTE(Kiding @ Jun 2 2012, 11:52 PM)
My driving method for your reference.

1) Accelerate car faster when start moving, try not to use EV mode, it will drain battery level, unless the road condition doesn't allow to do so

2) Depress the brake gently, if you see there might be a full stop ahead, try to depress the brake gently before few hundred meters away, the regenerative brake can recover the kinetic energy to electricity by recharging battery

3) Set your aircond temperature to 25-26 degree

4) Don't set to EV mode or ECO mode

5) Don't leave heavy items in your car, keep your car light weight as could as possible.

I constantly get around 23KM/L even I don't drive slow.
*
1) hmm i will try that , i accel very gently nowaday

2) also doing alrd

3) 24 for me, any higher i will melt

4) i eco most of the time... will off and see

5) i alrd heavy liao laugh.gif

Just got my Super Red PC yesterday... Drove it around town and am very satisfied with it... Haha...

Should organise some gathering... Should be fun, doesn't have to be too pricey...

When did you book the car? Just want to collect information on waiting period from current owners.

Oh you must be referring to the regenerative braking. The regen braking engages in a certain range before the actual normal brakes kick in. I am actually used to this regen braking instead of normal car brakes lol, nice smooth braking action for me. If that is the sound you are referring to then yes it is normal. Just pretend your car is a small quiet plane coming in for landing tongue.gif
*
I love the sound. I just feel like I'm a pilot. Haha

I still havent tried Hill Assist cos no slope for me to try on my regular route...

Today on a gentle slope i activate it but after a second the light went off liao.

i think the default D position was enough to mantain it from rolling back so it off kot...
*
Hill Assist - is is manually activated? Where is the button? I can't found it.

You press the brake in deep deep and an icon of a car with a squiggly line comes on. I tried it this morning on a really small slope and I let go of the brake and it started moving heh. I need to find a better slope/hill.

i dun get it... i cannot get > 22km/L on hiway cruising at 90
now also in city driving, light footed, slow accel, also cannot > 22km/L on one tank as average.

Same goes to me. To get 22km/l I am really really happy. If to achieve 28 km/l I think I suppose to celebrate wit Moet already

This is somewhat what is happening to me, I had excellent fc for the first 2 bars on the fuel gauge, after that it went down really quickly and I feel as if there has been a loss of overall power. I'm not sure what is going on, maybe cos of the full tank initially (on my other cars there is some behaviour like this, during full tank it has oomph and then as the tank nears half it's not as peppy)? Then again when I got the car which wasn't even half a tank it was performing the same way as it did during the first 2 bars of full tank. Now I find getting my mileage even harder than before. No matter how light footed I am the fuel goes down quick even with as much EV as I try. I wonder if anyone besides us has experienced this and know what's happening.. hmm.gif
*
Bro. I feel the same also. The bar just shooting down.

I guess the checklist of things to look at are
- short trips/drives really kill the mileage as car is warming up to operating temps using gas engine (probably get better mileage the longer duration you drive from this)
- car is still not yet fully broken in
- weather factors
- road factors
- aircon I guess
- distance of trips
- tire pressure
- what mode is the car using (normal/eco)

Hm they also say if you get significant mileage drop if you had a bump in your car that may change the alignment, or if you serviced it (engine oil factor)

My method of driving is to conservatively accelerate using the gas engine from the halfway mark from top of EV to beginning to PWR on the Eco score (I always get full scores for my accelerations. Then when I reach my desired speed I will try to push it along with the help of EV (I also try not to use the EV when I accelerate so I can conserve its power to help maintain car speed), I also use EV if I entered a slower area. Depending on where I am I may brake early or gradual, either to charge battery or adjust/keep momentum until the light turns green. "The less I press, the more I score", I guess that is kind of my mantra if I can just keep using the cars momentum. I noticed I've been accelerating the car from stops using EV despite what I had just mentioned which probably did not help.

I use ECO on flat terrain, and switch to Normal on hilly areas sometimes, but I mostly stick to ECO (cos I forget to switch alot). I think we really need to pay attention to the timing of things, like rate of acceleration of climbing a hill and also things like battery drain usage (conserve it for the right time), speeding up & down in sync with the traffic to maximize momentum efficiency, and I guess there's a whole load of other things to consider. I also try not to let battery go down too far or the gas engine will kick in to charge it lowering the mileage further.

I guess I'm not worried about the low mileage I get from short trips (the causes are obvious) but it's the gas guzzling on my longer duration drives that seem too fast now, as well as the loose acceleration/slight depreciation of car power for the EV motor (and perhaps gas motor). I will keep monitoring it, but I'm still on my first tank anyway so it's too early to tell (I think I have 4 bars left).

From what you said, i think mine has the same situation as yours... I pump in RM50 of petrol, when my fuel tank has about 2 bars left... Saw my crusing range turned into around 906km... Okay, thats after i pump... Right after i pump, I went down from Ampang to Puchong, then from Puchong to Centrepoint Bandar Utama... With ECO mode on and all, my cruising range suddenly dips to around 780 km, and boy, that was fast for like what, a 25km trip down?

Maybe ECO slows down the engine performance, which also means eating more fuel, as the engine needs warming up and so... Gonna try it on Normal mode and see how much i can squeeze out for the mileage... Best fuel consumption i got, maximum wise, is only up to 22km/l, that is with conservative driving and all... Lol

Looks like the major difference contributing to FC is air cond's temperature setting. I always set 25.5 to 26.5

Went up Cameron with my friends last night
Me driving Prius c this round, cuz if I drive civic I will smoke her car easily. My friend is driving Insight

Both of us pump full before going up, ytd was super jam at top there. But overall Prius C won in terms of FC. Me just back and I left 3 bars after jamming down back to home took 5 hours while Insight need to pump petrol when reached Tg Malim

Going uphill with fully loaded is not a problem! Damn, I can smoke my friend's insight easily and I can smoke cars like Vios, City easily during cruising uphill

Like the engine roaring sound, in fact I press till it roar very fierce! Even the passby cars also stare on my car!

Hahaha

Lol, I quite like all the sounds from the regen braking to the engine roar. Instead of looking at it in a negative light, I look at it more like a unique sound no one else has hahaha. Super stealthy jet plane lion. What a mouthful.

Right now I am having a different battle though - the evil water spots! *shakes fist at hard water*. At least it's not bird poop.
