Bro, it should be this link:

http://www.caralarm.com.my/acc_disklok.asp

No offense but these days, they use tow truck to steal the car. Even disklok can't prevent this. It happens to my friend at Puchong.

Thanks for correcting.

Yalo if they use tow truck, even alarm also useless i supposed.

I think what we can do is when we park the car, car boot should be facing out instead of front. Also front wheel should not be aligned.

Even the best alarm in the world can't help if:
1. They use tow truck
2. They just stop you on the road and take the car (i think this happen very often to camry)

Not all are skillful and have tow truck. At least the alarm will keep those being chase away. This is just a mentality thingy....depends on how u value the existence of alarm.

regarding fuel consumption the best i've achieved so far 9.4L/100km
how do i do it?
-avoid hard aacceleration
-try your best to maintain the speed at least above 60km/h including city driving (if u can)
-to see the real result, wait until 1 bar left n evaluate ur self the fuel consumption u manage to get because if u isi the minyak, the fuel consumption meter will suddenly increase (for eg: 9.4L/100km--->13.8L/km)

Alarm systems and other security measures are not meant to be foolproof measures to prevent theft. It merely acts as a deterrant or to slow down potential car thieves. There is no alarm system in the world that can actually claim to be 100% effective.

IIRC, our JPJ's rule on car tint is stricker than Singapore's LTA regulation...
If your car tint is > 70% VLT for front and >50% VLT for side and rear, shouldn't be a problem.

The Singapore Land Transport Authority (LTA) Regulations state that:

Window film must not be of the reflective type.
The resultant light transmittance for the front windscreen and two front side windows must be at least 70%.
The resultant light transmittance for the rear windscreen and the rear passenger windows must be at least 25%.
The front windscreen must not prevent, obstruct or interfere with the transmission of signals between the In-vehicle Unit (IU) and Electronic Road

My previous car front side windows tinted to 50% VLT, but no problem going through Singapore checkpoint as always wind down the front windows for immigration and customs clearance biggrin.gif

Guys i think we need to think carefully about this warranty concerns. Yes certain things might void the warranty, but best to always check direct with Glenmarie rather than rely on individual service centres or word of mouth. Do keep in mind that its in Kia's interest to maintain the warranty as that ensures repeat servicing for the next 5 yrs. Mind you, Kia service isnt cheap. Ive got a Kia sitting in my home and generally its more expensive than Toyota. The initial servicing will be cheap but once u start changing parts, then ull see the cost increasing. Kia stands to make alot of money by ensuring customers keep coming back to them. So i dont think they would be that quick to void a warranty as they stand to lose as well.

Im also seriously considering the alarm. Its not a foolproof system but it has its advantages. I rather risk voiding the warranty than make it easier for someone to grab my car. But havent put much thought into it. Will need to check with Kia first.
*
I asked the Service Advisor at KIA Glenmarie last month on alarm installation for my Sportage and replied that it is still a no-no for Sportage, K5 and Sorento.
I already thinking of installing the alarm and glass sensor recommended by KIA's salesman plus anti-hijack, but will KIV first until Naza's sales person and their service staff sort-out on their disagreement on alarm installation.

Probably the unluckiest purchase for me. My white K5 is again delayed for another 2 - 3 weeks. That would make a total of nearly 3 months wait! Completely don't understand why some of you can obtain a white K5 within a month or so. I'm utterly speechless about this entire thing. Been chasing them left, right and center and the only excuse they gave was AP issue. #!$%@#!#@$!!!

Yeah that's why you are one of the lucky ones. My case I already bising until Naza regional manager because they delayed me 3 times. Scared i'll morph into Hulk and start bashing them up since everyone is in Avengers mood.
