Hello K5 brothers,

I'm planning to change tires and enhance the tinting when the ride arrives. Would like a durable silent tire with good performance as well. Have no idea which one is better on the tinting. Appreciate if some of you can advise. Thanks!

Tires is between Goodyear Eagle EfficientGrip or Yokohama DB
Tinting is between V-Kool Elite or Ecotint E-Par Excellence

Go for Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 2 la. Its rated better than even Michelin Pilot Sport 3. Efficient Grip is medium range.
*
Is it as silent as Efficient Grip or Yokohama DB? I'm more towards comfort and silence. Lesser on the performance though, if you can recommend some other brands for my range and preferences that would be awesome!

I'm also looking at Continental ContiMaxContact MC5.

Probably the unluckiest purchase for me. My white K5 is again delayed for another 2 - 3 weeks. That would make a total of nearly 3 months wait! Completely don't understand why some of you can obtain a white K5 within a month or so. I'm utterly speechless about this entire thing. Been chasing them left, right and center and the only excuse they gave was AP issue. #!$%@#!#@$!!!

Mine last time they said like that also..they said very difficult to get white as AP still pending and it will take around 1 month the fastest they can get..have to undergo long waiting list..so they pushed me to buy the PG or silver color..but i still insist for white..supprisingly after i signed the agreement with the bank, suddenly they said the car already got the AP n i got my car..lol
*
Yeah that's why you are one of the lucky ones. My case I already bising until Naza regional manager because they delayed me 3 times. Scared i'll morph into Hulk and start bashing them up since everyone is in Avengers mood.

Whats the delivery time now for the Optima? As for me the total duration from the time i placed the booking (silver) till the time i collected was exactly 15 days. The extra time was in registering a KL plate from Ipoh. If not, i would have collected the car after 12 days only.
*
I'm still waiting for mine, placed an order for the white from beginning of March till now still no car

I have yet to get my car and already hearing all the petty issues you guys have shared so far for the past few months. Not a big concern but abit of hassle.....but it shouldn't happen though. Guess i'll go through all of these problems when ride arrives.

Can't find any at shop yet. Ask your SA, I'm sure he can sell to u, or even better, ask them to give u free. If I m not mistaken, the older version of "K" emblem, the K is flat, and there are complains about the quality, especially the black color background fade to grey color, and some the chrome part peeling off. So I bought the emblem from Jayongmall. They used to sell the older version, and received complain so now selling the newer version.

I plan to change to Michelin PS3 right after I get my car. As the tyre shop allow me to trade in RM250 per tyre provided the Nexen tyre is still new.
*
Shoots, then I'll have to be worried when i get those emblems from my SA. Called a tyre shop in Klang. He recommended me Dunlop around RM600+ and mentioned that Nexen tyres does not last and could get cracks and peels quite easily. Any other recommendations besides Michelin PS3?

Another white K5 checked in yesterday after 5 months of disastrous wait. Do add me, thx!!

Realized 1 thing, my car doesn't come with the K5 word behind, only Optima. Anyway...intend to remove that as well to keep it blank and simple.

Burning midnight oil tonight going through the manual book to learn up this gadget!

Going for my 1st service on Tuesday. Some problems identified after a week plus with the K5:-

1. Glass sunroof loose squeaking sound. Just realised this yesterday. Noticeable when glass sunroof is closed and not while it's open. Pretty sure its coming from there (driver's side)

2. Lock/Unlock button lights at driver's door doesn't lit up. Only the Unlock light was visible but not the Lock light

3. Noticed some sound coming from Rear Left Suspension

4. Engine does a mild jerk in the morning whether vehicle is in motion/stationed. It's only for a while

Any of you owners did faced this issue before?

I'm at red cube now doing the first service and awaiting for them to fix my problems...they mentioned its going to take 1 whole day inspecting the noise coming from sunroof and rear left suspension. Saw the HU in Forte, looks pretty OK. Intend to change to the touch screen HU as well when its available. Might think twice if you say its lousy hmm.gif

Saw someone's K5 whereby the backlight is a fullstrip type unlike our standard 'C' shape only with K5 logo badge in Red Cube SC. Belongs to someone here in the forum? WVMxxxx i think...

Thats really cool, i wonder how much does it cost? Ironically Kia red cube PJ still showing fullstrip back light in their banner  doh.gif  Can we claim Kia for this fullstrip backlight because they are not following the spec?
*
I guess not, our spec is the same as Australia variant accept for the engine. The brochure is abit misleading only. I asked the service guy for the owner's contact but he say cannot simply give info. So i left my number to the owner since he's not around. Hopefully he will call me back cause I'm very keen on how & where he did it and whether it voids the warranty or not.

Hi LYL.. I think you are the one who asked me at Red Cube this morning right ? By the way, i have the chance to have closer look at the tail light, and its different with mine.. But i still remember one SA ( Gabriel ) from KIA dealer in sunway told me that we can choose to set it together with brake light, or just leave it as the fog light.. Maybe he can help us on this..
*
Hi there. If what you're saying is possible, it may not be recommended as well. First is even you choose to set it together, there is a gap in between the inner and outer lamps unlike what we saw today at red cube. Second...its a rear fog light, it's way too glaring and it may hurt someone's eyes whoever that is behind you. We probably only use the rear fog light during heavy rain conditions instead of the hazard light.

Bro, I would really recommend you to write an email to Naza Customer Care clearly stating your problems so that they can keep a record of your problems. In my case, I had to send the car in and drove their technician around to show them the problems. Rattling roof, rattling parts in the door, rattling speaker grill and many more. They estimated that they'll need to take my car in for 3 days at least to rectify the problems, which may require a major operation on the sunroof (taking the whole damn thing off). So I told them please seek my permission before doing anything as I may need to approach HQ to get an extra warranty that no further problems would occur after that.
When I was in Korea earlier, i made a trip to their KIA showroom and ask for the original full LED strip. After a long communications struggle, managed to check that it costs USD300.00 for the entire rear light assembly which includes the LED strip and C shape lights as well. One more thing that I noticed, they have far fewer KIA and Hyundai showrooms in Seoul than KL. hahahahah  rclxms.gif
*
Hi bro, That's what they recommend me to do, drive a few more days to see whether roof noise is still there (which i think its still noticeable, doesn't happen everytime though). If still not satisfied, then send in the car so that the technician can further inspect the problem. On that rear LED strip light, it may void warranty if we change it..Will have to look into it further, parts are also available at jayongmall as well. I dont think they need so many showrooms cause the ppl there loves the country and their own brand, no need to promote so much haha.

As I understand, there is a K7 and a K9 in Malaysia which belongs to CEO of  Kia / Naza. It is also for testing purposes. My SA took a picture of the K7 during his training session in HQ and he showed it to me. Very nice

The manager of Red Cube told me that they are in the planning stage of bringing in the K7. Is only the pricing now that they have to work out.
*
Saw a white K7 as well few months back parked infront of Redcube. On KIA's flagship K9 i'm guessing not so soon.... but its a superb car with LCD meters (like the Lexus LFA) and other fantastic features. K5 also have to notworthy.gif all the way down

Bro, if u really wanna spend the money and change your tyres then please go for the Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 2. Dont bother changing to other brands e.g Hankook, etc. The only available size for the Optima is 235-45-R18. Its a better tyre compared to even the Michelin Pilot Sport 3. Very good reviews online too.

On the other hand you may opt for Dunlop Veuro (Import from Japan). I changed mine to those and find it to be quite silent as well. Hope that helps in your decision. It comes in 225/45/18 as well.
