Dear all,
I woud like to consult you all on something which i have no experience on. I finshed paying for my first car a year ago. The bank has issued me a release letter and also the registration card. Now if i were to trade in my old car for a new k5, do i need to first inform jpj that i have finished paying for my first car? and can i just allow the SA to settle everything for me?
Thanks.

Hi, i just went for a test drive at bangsa KIA. The SA who was showing me the car didnt know how to change the LCD display. I wanted to drive with the display showing how much of petrol consumption. However the SA couldnt be bother and asked me to drive. Anyway, after the test drive he asked another SA to help change the dsiplay and it shows 18.1lt/100km.
Question: Is this accurate? What does this mean? Does it mean that according to the last 'drive' the fuel consumption is 18.1lt/100km?
My concern is that although NAZA claims the fuel consumption of a K5 is approximately 7.6lt/100km, will this deterioate after time. If it does, how fast will it happen?
I remeber seeing someone posted here that his fuel consumption is 10.(something)lt/100km for a 3 months car.
Btw, the car i tested in Bangsa Kia is a 2011 and not a 2012 car.

Why do you need to install a alarm system in the car? Doesnt the car comes with a alarm system like all other cars?

My concern with kia cars is always the FC. That is the reason why I'm hesitant to book one yet. Added on April 27, 2012, 12:02 pmMay be others who had the K5 already can persuade me otherwise? This post has been edited by zapirwin: Apr 27 2012, 12:03 PM

QUOTE(kenso77 @ Apr 27 2012, 06:42 PM) Was the case awarded in his favor or still ongoing? The judge was with him. To cut their loses, peugeot decided to settle. Added on April 27, 2012, 11:45 pmBy the way what is TT? Sounds like the FC not that good. This post has been edited by zapirwin: Apr 27 2012, 11:45 PM

Thanks for the good review CB98. Just wanna check, how many bars are there when the fuel tank is full? You mean to say that the 2nd bar dropped after 25km of city driving? Wow....I didn't know its such a big difference driving in city compared with driving on highways.

Question: I'm not a speedster so pickup speed and power is not an issue to me. My only concern is the FC. If the ECO mode is switch on all the time (whether city or highway driving) would it make a difference in FC and would it cause any damage to the car?

K5 may attract attention on the road for now. Like all other new cars, it may not last long. What is more important is the value for money (both specs, FC, maintenance and 2nd hand value). Can K5 convince me on these? I really don't know yet. May be the Tai Koh here can share more on these aspects.

REALLY?????? 508 is already a CKD plus its just RM148k????? I've booked the K5 already. I must say, the one think i like about the 508 than the k5 is what the k5 doesnt have, i.e. Front sensor, windows shed and the doors in 508 are heavier n more solid. Plus it gives a taike look.
However the k5 seems to be quiter n more spacious. Arghhhh..... I'm torn between both sides. Better start a thread to see what people thinks about these 2 cars.

First, there is the noise at the back passenger seat, then there is the rattling sound from the moon roof, followed by the complain on the reverse camera. Now there seems to be problem with the side mirror at the driver seat folding slower than the passenger side. What else did I miss?
Getting mine soon but very concern with all these defects. Are there supposed to be so many defects for a new car? I hope I didnt make the wrong decision of going with Kia.

I read that k5 also has auto headlights and auto wipers. Can someone confirm this? How does it work?

QUOTE(bUGG @ May 31 2012, 08:06 PM) My car is not at Jetty, is at Show room. I call up my bank loan officer and confirm that they have register the car chasis and engine number to my loan. Now waiting for NAZA to settle the Tax/AP issue, once that is done, my SA can handover to JPJ to prrocess documentation Puspakom inspection. Infact one of the forum member did call up NAZA directly and confirm this is the case. When will NAZA settle the AP then. My car is stuck there too. Btw, how does sierra glow protects ur car? Is it not like waxing n polishing? Also can sierra glow really last for 5 years? Just wonderring if it is worth doing it.

Hmmmm..... Looks like I've been ignored. Let me ask the question again: Would like to consult dear taikos on how effective is sierra glow. I've got dogs at home. When I first bought my wife's vios 2 years ago, it lasted only 2 months before I noticed scratches on the car by my dogs. Can sierra glow protect my k5 from my dogs? Also can it really last for 5 years?

Thnks for all ur reply on sierra glow. Since a new car usually still have its shininess and glow, wouldnt it be more worth it to do the sierra glow after a year or two the the shininess or glow starts to loose its effect?
