QUOTE(mrkenn @ Jun 14 2012, 10:05 PM) Hi guys. Wanna ask how does 1366x768 look on a 15.6 inches laptop? does the pixels look a bit too big? what about when gaming? tq It doesn't look large and blurry, in fact it's pretty nice and sharp. Gaming wise the screen does well. QUOTE(Happy_Igneel @ Jun 14 2012, 11:42 PM) HI guys, anyone have 2nd hand parts for reviving my beloved aspire? Item(s):Acer 4920 Power Board Ribbon Cable Picture: it is connected to the power switch board. Try looking for it in the Garage Sales section. Otherwise you can try referring to Acer themselves, or pay a visit to one of the many shops in Low Yat Plaza. This post has been edited by TDUEnthusiast: Jun 19 2012, 04:21 PM

Two of them are for the nVidia GPU, while the last one's for the Intel HD3000.

updated to the latest nvidia drivers, much more stable, but since i've been using my baby less this month, can't tell if the bsod problem has been completely fixed. @ powx84 : connected both a 23 inch 16:9 and 17 inch 4:3 as secondary monitors in both clone and extended desktops mode with no problems. however need to set each screen's resolution manually lar, it doesn't auto set to the highest reso available for both. Added on July 11, 2012, 9:23 pmhm... seems there are new beta drivers out : http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook-win8...eta-driver.htmlThis post has been edited by porselinaheart: Jul 11 2012, 09:23 PM

So far so good, and it seems like the occasional blackness that befalls Company of Heroes when I'm playing it on the V3-571G has been solved. That could be an issue. 2GB of RAM and Windows 7 64 Bits is a bad combination.

You'll definitely want to add more RAM. It may not solve your problem though. Anyway, is windows booting up fairly long? If it seems pretty much normal to you, then the hard disk is probably fine and the problem may lie with the amount of RAM you have after all. Otherwise if Windows booting up is really slow, then you may want to check the hard disk for errors.

Hello fella's,
I'm an owner of a Acer v3-471G. i5 ivy, GT630M
During idle state, without a cooling-pad, while on battery, does the fan ever stop? like does it stop for a while and then start again; or does it spin continuously?
With the laptop set to "power saver" plan, and with the CPU cooling set to "passive" in the power plan settings, does the fan still spin continuously?
Can all you post your acers' temperatures during Idle-state, internet browsing only, and torrent download only, running on battery set to "power saver plan. Without using a cooling-pad, on a flat surface, both in an air conditioned area and non air conditioned area, and the program you used. This would help many users to know when something is going wrong or when it is starting to go wrong.
After installing the Acer crystal eye webcam program, does the webcam image get darkened? and what is the resolution of the camera? I know it says HD webcam but the quality seems very poor for a 1.3MP. Can all of you take one picture of something using the webcam in a well lit/daytime area and post it as a sample.
Thank you all of you fellow Acers

Thanks for adding me in. I've owned mine since May actually, though I never knew there was an owners club for it.
Will be adding an ssd soon- the standard hard disk is the only weak link in this laptop IMO.
And another 4gb of ram- the original is Hyundai. Anyone know of any incompatibilities if I plug in another 4gb of Kingston?
