Does anyone do any cardio on their rest day?
Starting a new workout routine, and has 2 rest days in between. I wont be gymming, but is cardio alright? Thought of getting HIIT done at home, or futsal/ muay thai. Or is rest day = COMPLETE REST. eat (maintain DIET), sleep and play |

For obese, I know it is hard to exercise. Jogging is a torture. Do not jog if you think your knees cannot support the pressure of your upper body weight. My suggestion is tackle the weight loss problem through healthy eating first, and less intensity on exercise. Instead of jog, you can just increase the number of steps of walking in a day. If you have access to treadmill, just increase inclination and walk, so you will get the same benefits like running. These kind of exercise is enough and safe for starter. As for eating, this is your main priority. For those who craves for sugar, I know it's tough to just stop from having sweet tooth in each meal. So, my suggestion is, buy Stevia at cosway, it is a type of natural sugar that has better effect than the normal sugar. You can google stevia or youtube, you would be amazed my this superfood.

QUOTE(skycrawler @ May 30 2013, 05:50 PM) My new workout has 5 days of lifting, mixing abs in 2 of those days. Its more towards compound workouts and super sets. concentration workouts only get the fats burning to a certain degree!Guess ill try to take a full day of rest, no cardio also..but is it advisable, just to have 5 days lifting + intervals/cardio(futsal), 1 day of HIIT cardio and 1 day of leisure sports (futsal). |

QUOTE(Govinder94 @ May 28 2013, 08:21 PM) Your meal seems fine. Have you lost any fat from the diet you're taking right now?Basically it's simple. You need to know how much calories is needed (for you) in a day and any deficit from it will contribute to weight loss. QUOTE(GroundMan @ May 29 2013, 05:31 PM) It seems you're not getting enough nutrition. Your food is only cereal, yoghurt, milk, fruits other than a more balanced lunch. Don't be afraid to eat meat, poultry, egg, vege and rice for dinner.Read my reply above as well. QUOTE(Porie @ Jun 1 2013, 05:30 PM) It depends. According to myfitnesspal, a 6" Sub (Roast Chicken) With Honey Oat Bread contains 661 calories and 32gm of fats. To me it's pretty high. Some selection like Veggie Delite is only 213kcal with 1.2gm fat which is far lower in calories and fat. This post has been edited by sweet_pez: Jun 1 2013, 09:10 PM |

QUOTE(sweet_pez @ Jun 1 2013, 09:09 PM) Your meal seems fine. Have you lost any fat from the diet you're taking right now? By my current weight, I think I need to take around 2000-ish calories to lose weight. I don't really take my measurements. But I did noticed that some of my pants is a bit loose now after the 2nd week. The same thing that I experience last time. I just think that I need to watch what I eat as I think I am classified in the endomorph category. Basically it's simple. You need to know how much calories is needed (for you) in a day and any deficit from it will contribute to weight loss. I plan on calling in quits on Insanity and try lifting instead. I always work out at home. But I guess I feel like hitting the gym tomorrow. Making it a 6 day workout, 1 day rest schedule. Of course, I'll still do some plyometrics for my cardio. I'll keep updating my progress. |

QUOTE(Govinder94 @ Jun 2 2013, 08:35 PM) Hmm, what's 6 days split? Sorry. a bit blurry on terms. but it wont be 6 straight days of lifting. it will be like 4 days of lifting, 2 days of cardio. alternating i guess. A 6 days split would be a routine where you'll go to the gym 6 times a week targetting different kind of body part each days. The usual example would be a 5 days split consisting of leg/shoulder/back/arm/chest split.Previously you said that you'll be going to the gym 6 times a week so I've assumed that you are doing a 6 days split |

Yeah if you're into bulking then you'll definitely need start lifting I plan on calling in quits on Insanity and try lifting instead. I always work out at home. Anyway if you go to gym then go for the body analyser. I checked once in January and then more recently in May. When I compare both results, I find that my muscle mass stayed the same (no drop) but body fat was down thus I can safely maintain my food intake and workout. |
